Making stats for our teaspoon pet
Rolling up a pet in Teaspoon: a d8 down the line, the modifiers your creature type brings, and when to just pick a nature instead of rolling it.
The steps
Roll a d8 straight down the line for health, aesthetics, magic, intelligence and danger.
Apply the modifiers your creature type gives you. A crustacean takes minus one intelligence.
Pick a nature rather than rolling one if the model already tells you what it is.
Take the extra hunger and the intelligence penalty that come with the type.
Generating a pet in Teaspoon is a d8 straight down the line, which took about as long as reading this will.
Health came up a one, which is a rough start. Aesthetics a six, helped along by the lipstick. Magic landed on a solid eight, so: magical shrimp. Intelligence a three, minus one for being a crustacean. Danger an eight, which follows, because a magical shrimp probably is dangerous.
I picked the nature rather than rolling it, on the grounds that the model was already painted like a blue lobster and there is no point rolling for something the miniature has already decided. Get mad if you want.
Being a shrimp also costs a d4 of extra hunger and a d4 of intelligence, which came up a two. Lucky.

What’s up everybody? Today we’re going to generate our our little pet for Teaspoon. Uh I printed it off. Some reason there’s lines on just his picture. But here we go.
So to generate a character, it’s just a D8 right down the line. We rolled a one for health. Uh which is not off to a great start. Next is aesthetics. We get a six.
So that that works. Our lipstick is helping us out there. Next is magic. Boom. With a solid eight.
Magical shrimp. Uh, intelligence is a three, but he gets a minus one, which I I’ll mark in later because he gets a minus one for being a crustation and an eight for danger. So, that makes sense. Is a magical shrimp is probably going to be dangerous. And then I put nature’s sweet just from the lipstick.
I didn’t roll that. I picked it. Uh, get mad if you if you want. So, obviously decided it was a crustaceian and a ditravore. Dietravore uh based on a little shrimpy guy.
I think that’s it’s cool, you know. And I painted it like a blue lobster. Uh, and again, I forgot to put write the one here, but I’m actually gonna fix that later. And I get D4 additional hunger because I’m a shrimp. And also, I get minus D4 intelligence.
And I rolled a two. So, luckily, it’s only minus one. And now, uh, we look through here. This is all the rules. Put this on page three of the >> Here we go.
I realized after checking the rule book again that health is a minimum of two. So, we got lucky. So, we’ve got a very dangerous magical little bit cute looking shrimp with not who’s not very smart and does not have a lot of health. So, very excited. I’m going to start building the diorama tomorrow.
Um, got caught up uh I did I did a little bit more on this guy. Just a little bit of minor touches. Got caught up on him. working on some other stuff. That’s it for today.
