Taking a look at Inquisitor Kroyle

/ 3 min read

Quick unboxing of the Inquisitor Kroyle sprue from a kit-bashing perspective, plus action-figure prop counters for Monster Friends and a stack of Ex Obscuris appliance prints.

Transcript

What’s up. Doing a quick one tonight. Slowly organizing all this stuff behind me. Got to clean up all my mail trash, but look at these little things.

(Don’t look at Open Tide. I’m working on Open Tide. That’s for a different video.)

Action-Figure Props for Monster Friends

I was inspired by the Billion Dollar Clown Farm video. I tracked down the exact ones he had in that diorama video. I want to use these for Monster Friends, but I had to get them because the set has the Shin Ramen pack and the beer mug.

I’m going to use them as counters. It’d also be funny to roll up to a War Machine game and use them as focus counters, but it might not be very immersive, so people might get mad.

Convergence Prints and Ex Obscuris Appliances

I’ve been slowly including these on prints I’m doing for a customer. I finally have all of the convergence stuff printed and all the bases. It’s taken literally almost a whole month.

I love these. These are the appliance set from Ex Obscuris for Wanted! Reward: CC 10000. That’s the other thing I’m really excited about. There are lots of games I’m really excited about right now. The plan is to use these for that, plus Monster Friends, as the first projects I work on after I finish the Dust Commission.

I got these printed and I want to get them primed up. I also printed these mini coffee cups. They’re for the video tomorrow. You’re not allowed to know those exist or GW might see you.

Inquisitor Kroyle Unboxing

I just got Inquisitor Kroyle, so this is going to be a quick unboxing. I want to look at the sprue from a kit-bashing perspective, because this model is awesome and I want to see what we could do with it. Not actually kit-bashing today, just showing the unboxing.

Here’s the first sprue. We’ve got our tactical rock. A second tactical rock. It looks like this is actually a very kit-bashable kit. The rifle is there. There’s a hand molded to the rifle, but the backpack and the body parts are just two halves, of course, and the heads are there. I’m pretty happy with that. I think I want to do a head swap. That head is almost kind of cool, but I don’t know if it’s what I want to do.

I love this creature. The dude’s legs aren’t molded to the creature, so that’s awesome. The saddle is… let me get my chubby little fingers out of the way so you can take a look.

Here’s the monster sprue. Here’s the dude sprue. It looks like there’s a little bit of the dude’s parts on the monster sprue. It’s definitely a monopose kit, but in terms of kit-bashing potential, I think it’s there for sure.

On the Fence About 11th Edition

I really just kind of wanted the mount. I’m still on the fence about 11th edition. I don’t know if I’d play it. When I bought it, I was just interested in the mount. But now looking at the dude, the dude is pretty cool too. So we’ll see. The mount’s awesome.

What’s Next

Taking a break from the in-depth painting tonight. I still painted a little bit today, but it was a full workday, so I’m just stepping off and then jumping back in. The rest of the week is going to be the big push to finish the Infinity and then finally start the Dust.

See you tomorrow. Just a quick fun one taking a look at Inquisitor Kroyle.
