Oh god. Oh god. Okay, we’re finally about to be done with the glue stage on this thing. Uh now I’m literally just going to cover this thing in the severely watered down glue. Uh so again, this is this is glue 50 50 50 glue to water and two drops of Dawn dish soap in it.
And what that does is breaks the surface tension, so it’s going to soak Ooh, we’re going to shake it up a little bit more. Got a little bit of straight glue right there. Uh it’ll be fine. And you can see it’s already soaking down in on spots. And this is going to go through the bottom of this cuz I didn’t seal the bottom of this cuz why would I bother doing that?
So I put this bubble wrap between the tray and the piece. So I’ll just be able to peel the bubble wrap off and peel off any Elmer’s glue that’s still there on the bottom. See, I definitely want to get up against this. And also this at this point this should seal everything in for the resin work. Cuz you know we’re going to add some water to this bad boy.
Um I’m going to before I do resin work, I’ll definitely go up underneath it and seal it in on the spots where the resin’s going to go. But, I do I don’t know. There’s a couple of spots that I touched up, but I just want to make sure I got I got locked in. So, I think I think we’re good. And this is the scary part, if you’ve never done this before.
Because I think you just think I’m going to have a whole mess of glue and it’s going to look like [ __ ] Ah, but first of all, we’re just gluing trash together together. So, it can’t look bad. And I got glue all over my hands. Uh second of all, it’s going to dry clear and it’ll literally not change how this looks at all, as long as you have your water mix. I’m a little bit worried about this part right here, because it’s a little bit thicker glue.
So, it might not absorb. So, all you do And again, a lot of this is already glued down, so it’s not pulling up. Is you just dab it. Don’t swipe, because then you’ll rip your work off. Uh you just give it a little dabbin’.
A little dab’ll do you. And there you go. Problem solved. So, I’m going to let this sit. This is now uh 4 days since I started this and every single day I just put more glue on it uh to lock it in.
Definitely don’t want glue on the top side. And if you if you’re worried about it, just put a masking tape on the top. But, like I’m not worried about it. Uh so, there we go. Even with our catastrophe, our water spill catastrophe averted, it missed the Stream Deck, it missed missed the audio mixer on the shelf below it.
Got all that cleaned up. Uh and at least I was recording. So, thanks for watching. Uh if you’re if you’re still here, I realized honestly, this last week has been crazy, so I’ve been filming stuff. I’ve been clicking on publish to YouTube and then I’ve been passing out and go going to bed.
And I realized a ton of videos didn’t actually post. Uh they errored out. So, the streak the streak is in shambles, gentlemen. But, I’ve got the videos. I’m going to go back through and see like why and what’s going on.
So, hopefully, I’m just going to flood the channel with a bunch of cool new videos, cuz I’ve been working on a ton of projects. Just kind of small ones, bunch of little quickie ones. Uh just trying to finish a bunch of stuff before I jump back into the dust commission which is coming next week. See you See you in some other videos. Okay, it’s been 10 minutes.
I just want to show you this if you if you really are scared about dumping glue on your [ __ ] or on your on your projects, excuse me. I probably have to paint this border again because uh apparently I should have cared about it. Maybe I’ll just feel like scrape it off. But anyway, so you can see most of it gets sucked up by all the sand and the cork and everything even with the other layers of glue on it. But what happens, and again we knew this was going to happen, the glue falls down to the bottom and it sticks here.
So you don’t want to move this because what will happen is all the glue is going to catch amongst itself right there and it’s just going to sit there. Sit right here. Sorry for jumping you around on the camera. Oh, you’re back on the mount. I just get so excited.
I grab the camera and I jump around and I talk. Uh all the glue is going to settle right here on that edge. If you keep it there, it’s all going to most of it is going to not fully cure first of all because it’s going to cluster and clump just like it does in the bottle, but there’s going to be enough of it that dries right there that you’ll be able to peel off all the layer very easily cuz it’s going to form one cohesive glue layer and there’s some in that corner, too. If you if you jiggle this around or you shake it or you pick it up and move it a bunch of times, it’s going to keep moving your glue deposits and then you’re going to have a whole mess down there. But now as it sits, it’s all the glue is going to fall through the bottom.
It’s all going to level out around the frame because there is the surface tension is going to increase due to some kind of combination of static electricity from the bubble wrap and it’s going to thicken back up as it dries. So it’ll all collect and it should all be collected or only be in like one to three big clumps that you can just easily peel off. But if you move this thing around, you’re just going to have little smudges of glue everywhere. So, that’s a very important lesson that I forgot the first time I recorded it. So, I I just added it.
And like I said, it’s almost already looking back to normal again. So, cover your Cover yourself in glue. This thing’s going to be bulletproof. I’ll be able to throw this thing across the room now, and nothing’s going to break off of it. This is 4 hours post recording.
Uh and I got to get to finish the video and get it uploaded. So, it’s still wet. Like you can see it in the cork. It’s still a little wet. Uh but most of this is already dry and locked down.
So, I’m going to let it sit overnight just so it’s fully cured. But just wanted to make sure everybody knew it’s okay to cover your stuff in glue. See you tomorrow.
