Orc the Brand Dropped Wave 2 for Monster Friends
Seven new monsters just hit the Monster Friends: Battle for New Florida roster, from a punch-happy Walrus Champion to a limited summer Mr. Devil. They're all live now.
Orc the Brand just dropped Wave 2 for Monster Friends: Battle for New Florida. Seven new monsters, all live on the store right now. They come unpainted, which for me is the fun part. Here’s the whole lineup.
Walrus Champion
Proud, kind of arrogant, and they just want to punch anything they can find.
Outhouse Mimic
The biggest Mimic in New Florida. It grows its own scrap-wood house right onto its body.
Brew Bat
Swamp witches doing dark alchemy. Their potions only work if somebody suffers for them.
Gnorc Big Bomber
A Gnorc who found a very big bomb. It usually doesn't end well for the Gnorc.
Doctor Speeding Ticket
Frantic little mole medics that travel in packs and heal their monster buddies.
Face Stones 4-Pack
Rural cousins of the Face Stones that roll around nomadically. Four designs in the box.
Mr. Devil Summer Cook Out
A limited summer Mr. Devil sculpt. Once summer's over, it's gone.
There’s also a new 2-player starter kit
Orc the Brand also put out a 2-player starter kit, and honestly it’s the easiest way in for two people. It’s a set of monsters picked to actually synergize together, bundled at about a 25% discount, and built to give you a better first game than grabbing models at random.
You get two ready-made parties:
- The Muckland Dirt Scamps are a gambling-based, RNG-heavy horde. Lots of little guys, lots of dice, lots of praying it comes up in your favor.
- The Defenders of The South Coast Plaza are a buff-based snowball party. They stack their support abilities on top of each other, so once they get going the whole thing is greater than the sum of its parts.
If you’ve been waiting for a clean on-ramp into Monster Friends, this is it.
Grab the Mr. Devil before fall
Quick heads up on that Mr. Devil Summer Cook Out. It’s a limited seasonal sculpt, and Orc the Brand is planning to stop making it around early fall. So it’s a grab-it-now or wait-a-whole-year kind of deal. Like all the alt sculpts it doesn’t do anything special in the game, it’s just a cool model. That’s reason enough for me.
We’re still waiting on the rules
One thing I don’t have yet: rules for these new guys. Right now I’m not seeing stats or cards for the Wave 2 monsters, so you can’t actually field them at the table just yet. I’ll be keeping an eye out, and the second Orc the Brand puts out the rules I’ll update this page so you know it’s safe to jump in.

Update (July 16)
Rules are starting to land. As of July 16, the rulebook has cards for two of the Wave 2 monsters: Doctor Speeding Ticket and Walrus Champion. Those two are officially table-ready now. Still waiting on the rest of the wave, but it’s a start.
