Prepping for game day

Totally forgot today was a family uh event day. So, I didn’t get time to paint. And I’m really only going to have time to get everything packed up tonight to go to the War Machine event tomorrow. So, I’m going to pack up my my game day bag and show you what I bring. I got to dust off the the ammo box.

All right. Starts with the big big battle magnarack. I had to get this out. I probably need to dust it a little bit more. Um it’s only 30 points tomorrow.

It’s with objectives. you know, it’s not a ton of models, but I just figured I’ll put this together. Uh, and then start filling it as I get more stuff based and ready to go. I like this size cuz it fits all of my sticks. As you know, for War Machine, can never have too many sticks.

Uh, and then down here in the bottom, I’ve got my standard movement rulers, some proxy bases. I can also use this for objective markers, cloud templates, all that good stuff. This fits in right in the top. And then I also uh I have all my tokens in this thing courtesy of the Ice King. Uh in here, let’s see.

I have an actual tape measure and it’s a magnetic, too. So, I I like that I can throw this on my Magnarrack. It stays in place. Um I just got these guys, my new Fury tokens. I’ve never played Fury before, or I haven’t played Fury since Mark 2, I should say.

Uh I use these meat meaty dice for wounds. Um, these are the fresh heavy black ones uh that I got lucky. The old school Chessix ones. These are these are old school chefs heavy white ones. Uh, so keeping it old school and plain.

Uh, I need to probably I’ll probably get Grimkin ones to pimp this out, but I like the orange ones from Menoth the best. Can never have too many knockdown markers. Uh, corpses. Uh, corrosion. There’s also some fire in here.

Uh, what do I have over here? Enrage, craft talisman, base proxy. Uh, and then down below I have like stuff I’m not using right now, but will need later, like dig in, prey. I think there’s shield wall in there. Uh, a couple other just random things that I might need.

Uh, I need to put some fire tokens in here still. I got I also magnetized the bottom of this bad boy so I can slide him in on this on the short tray that’s too short for my models. And normally I’ll have this tray in, but I’m I’m using it as a shelf right now as a on my bookshelf. So I I don’t need it, so I don’t want to like disrupt everything. But this is actually like very locked in there.

And the bottom of this is magnetized too. So this is also locked in place there. Uh so this this keeps everything I want secure and that’s why I like it because even even when I have like a full two armies in here, I uh I I can put this in the bottom and I don’t usually use all that space up except when I play two Judicators and Resnick. Then uh that was a problem. Okay.

So as I was putting it in, I realized that I’m actually instead of a three stack, I’m going to need just two of the bigger compartments. So, I just swapped that over real quick because this will be able to actually hold both of my lists I want to try at 100 eventually anyway because I’m probably not gonna play uh old witch uh cuz I want to try the other casters out for a while. Okay, these Magnaracks are actually kicking my ass and so I think the problem is I had this little one, right? Uh, and I I had both of them disassembled and folded up in a closet and I mixed up the pieces. And like technically you can use them all together, but you can’t really because either this will be too big or this will be too short or this will be too big and this will be too short.

Uh, and even if I’m not even trying to use this right now and I can’t get this one to fit in the bag. Uh, it’s either substantially too short or it doesn’t hold my models. So, I’m just taking everything apart and trying again real quick. I finally got it to work how I want it. It is two little guys or I guess yeah two a really little guy the biggest setting and then uh there’s one this isn’t the smallest one but it is not the one below that.

So I I’m definitely mixing the kits cuz I needed a little bit extra room to fit that in the top and I can’t use the other small one. I don’t have it doesn’t fit in it right now. But this will be like I’m just going to keep my Grimkin in here and I think this will just be my go-to instead of trying to like hop around to a bunch of different cases. This is going to be the battle bag. And I I think I actually like that I have a little bit extra room.

I’m thinking about magnetizing that Army Painter wet palette because I can fit it right there probably and I can get some painting done maybe in the off time. But, uh, I like this because in all the main compartment, this is everything I need to play except for like the rules, which I have on my I have a second an old phone that I just use for the rules. So, that’ll be good. I have Let me zip this up before I definitely got to dust dust this thing off again. But, uh, the my only complaint is like the big one, the material here, it feels high quality still, but it’s way thinner than on the little bag.

And I had the little bag first, so I thought it would be the same thickness. Um, if I need more space up here, I can put that tray in this front pocket, but it’s very tight. Uh, I use I use this front pocket. I usually put my like tablet in here if I need a tablet to play. Uh, this front one I put my my pens in.

And usually I have this this in there, but I’m not going to use this right now. Uh, cuz I got the cool one from the Ice King. Uh, in here I’ll put like my tape measure, but I don’t need that anymore. So, I have all this extra room now, which is pretty cool. I don’t know what I’m going to put in it yet.

I’ll probably throw like a book in here, but uh I’m all packed up and ready to go. I’ve got objectives. I got sticks, real tape measure. What else am I missing? Proxy bases.

There’s a lot of lot of accuta you need for War Machine, especially when you get kind of my scene. Um it’s not like it’s not like a competitive in a bad way scene, but there’s a lot of really good players in my scene. So, like it it’s going to be try hard for me to not just get my ass kicked even in the Journeyman League, I think. But, I don’t know. I think there’s a lot of new players since I stopped.

I don’t know. I’m excited. I don’t really know what I’m in for, but I want to make sure I am prepared for it. So, I think this is it. It took me a lot longer to do than I thought it would cuz those magnet trays were kicking my right.

I was thinking through. So, I I just threw some super glue in here. Uh pen, notebook going in there. Uh everything I I would want I’m just going to throw in here and and show you the build out. Um I like to bring this this little This is tight.

This is like so over the top, but I saw it could not get it. It is It is a titanium. It is a titanium tape measure, but it’s a floppy boy. So, I can snake this around and get into spaces. I’m going to put this in that little black plastic case in there.

Uh, and then what else do I need? Uh, Grimkin don’t feed. So, I don’t need any of my cool metal tokens. I do have the metal Grimkin tokens, but I don’t have enough of them to use them. So, uh, I’m gonna try to get a few more of those so I can use those for my Fury markers.

But that’s what’s going in here. Uh, also external battery pack is in here. Now, these two I’m going to keep empty cuz I I’m going to put my iPad in there and when the iPad case, it’ll bulk this out. Uh, so that’s that’s for the iPad and the rules. And then in this side, I’m going to put my snacks in it.

And I think we’re good to go. Uh, I would like to do maybe like a mini hobby kit. And that’s what I got to figure out. Actually, I really I’m really liking my hobby setup at home right now. And I don’t trust the Army Painter web palette.

This is to travel with it. Uh I’m going to put the Karath kit in there. So, this is this is a little if you if you didn’t see that video, uh this is the watercolor block, uh watercolor pen, mechanical pencil, uh premateria oracle dice. Uh my two my two favorite uh these these pips are like worn out from the new ones I got. So they stand out and I don’t like that which I know is ridiculous.

My all-time favorite Lord of the Rings dice, but they roll like So I don’t want to I can’t get them to roll more than a three at a time most of the time. So this Lord of the Rings dice are in here. They’re the Karath dice. Uh what else? I got my rune hammer mob mob dice.

mob guys uh that I just use for markers and then all my cool mage knight tokens and I put some of those cool newbies in here. I figured I could you can always use more tokens. Uh so I’m gonna put that in here and then if I have any downtime when I’m not in games I’ll whip out some Karath which I think will be so I’m just getting ridiculous now. But this this was too bulky when I put it in the front pouch here and it’s too long to fit in the side pouch, right? So then I thought how minimalistic can I get and I came up with this this pouch which I think is still too much.

So, this this tiny tiny leather guy. Uh, this that’s actually kind of nice, but I think I’m gonna get a different pouch. Okay, so this pouch has to be one of another one of my oldest possessions. Got it from Niagara Falls when I was like literally elementary school. uh the Canadian side because when I was born, the day like shortly after I was born, I guess, my my grandmother had a dream that I fell into Niagara Falls from the American side.

And and it was so serious that 20 years later on her deathbed, she made me promise never to go to the American side of Niagara Falls. So, I’ve always gone I’ve gone back, I think, twice now. Always to the Canadian side. Uh, but I’ve had this the whole time and it’s a little bit bigger than that pouch. And also, it’s just a little bit cooler, you know?

It’s like actual raw hide. It’s truly aged with time. So, I’m going to I’m going to fill this up real quick and show you what I got. Okay, so I condensed it all down. And here’s here’s everything in here.

I’m going to throw this in. I’m going to see if I can get a game of out of a pouch. Uh, here’s everything in it. So, watercolors, D6s, primma materia dice, uh my direction die, couple of glass beads, and I think probably too many tokens actually. So, these these are just to mark things, you know.

Um it’s going to be theater of mind. Uh we’ll keep this is our character actually. No, this is here’s our here’s our character. We’ll keep keep some of those in case we come up against some cultists again. And here’s our Mantis guy.

And then these I don’t even think we need that many. Uh I think I think that’s all we need, you know. Boom. That’s all we need to play some Karath. Probably even less.

I could probably just bring a couple like a a single d6 and a pen so I can write down what I’m doing. But uh I think this way I can I can map it out on my board, you know? I don’t have to think too much in my head. >> Sorry. I’ll see you tomorrow where I hopefully can cover some
