Kingdom Death Monster - Episode 5

/ 35 min read

A brutal White Lion showdown where Sophia almost dies, learning about survival abilities, and discovering I've been cheating with the Encourage action.

New Camera Setup

New camera angle - hopefully you can see better now. Same terrain setup: big face card, bugs, grass. The face lets us climb on top for more range and accuracy.

The Strategy

Ground fighting again like last time. Feeling more prepared - strategies forming in my head.

The plan:

  1. Use Cat Eye Circlet to see top 3 hit locations
  2. Stack the deck to avoid traps
  3. Knock the lion down with crits
  4. Pile on wounds while it’s vulnerable

The Fight Goes South

Started strong - archer crits with the catgut bow, knocking the lion down. But then Sophia can’t hit anything. She’s “Sophia the Inaccurate” today.

Disaster strikes:

  • Sophia fails a fist and tooth attack
  • Lion gets a reaction - basic action with +2 damage
  • Both hits land on head and waist
  • Heavy wound to head, knocked down
  • She gets 4 bleeding tokens

She’s one more bleed from death and already knocked down. Can only take one more wound.

Learning the Hard Way

I’ve been forgetting several things:

  • Evasion - need to look up what it actually does
  • Dodging with survival - could have avoided that head hit
  • Surge - apparently I can’t do it now due to an injury (didn’t even know what it was)
  • Everyone has -1 speed from an earlier event - would have been huge

The Lick Wounds Problem

Drew Lick Wounds - if the monster has no wounds in its AI deck, it heals one and the card goes to the top of the deck. We have to get a wound in to clear it.

The lion keeps healing while we struggle to land hits.

Pulling It Together

Finally remembered to use survival abilities. Dodged a head hit that would have killed our archer. Started using the Cat Eye Circlet to stack the hit location deck properly.

Key crits:

  • Archer lands fractured shoulder (-1 movement token)
  • Clinestra keeps rolling natural crits
  • Sophia finally wounds with the bone club - fleshy gut crit gives +3 insanity and a free resource

The Kill

Clinestra finishes it by critting the beast tail - we get the lion tail resource AND it’s the killing wound.

Loot: Perfect hide, three monster hides, golden whiskers, shimmering mane, gray cat bones, sinew, and the tail.

Settlement Event: Nickname

Everyone rolls on the nickname tables. We’re all Dingles apparently:

  • Sophia: Dingle Hero of the Antelope (+1 strength!)
  • Others: Various Dingle titles

The Confession

I’ve been cheating. I don’t have the Encourage survival skill unlocked - you need it from innovations. Also forgot Kip can only move 4 spaces.

Fixing it going forward. The game is hard enough without my mistakes working in my favor.

Next Steps

  • Settlement at 7 population (used intimacy with Clinestra’s Matchmaker ability)
  • Unlocked Screaming Antelope hunting
  • Built ammonia innovation
  • Crafting whisker harp, lion headdress, bandages, and last rawhide armor set

Decision time: fight the lion again to get more claws and fur for cat armor, or jump into the Screaming Antelope blind?

Transcript

All right, new camera. New camera angle. New camera setup. I think you can see a little bit better hopefully. So this time we got big face card bugs grass.

Same as last time. This we can climb on top of, get more range, get more accuracy. If we’re behind it, it blocks line of sight. Uh I think we are ready to begin ground fighting like last time. Feeling much more prepared.

I feel like I know a little bit more about what to expect. Starting to get a little bit more strategies in my head. So, we’re going to start with Alexios. He is going to stay where he is, but he’s going to use the cat eye ciruit to reveal the next three monster hit locations and put them back in any order. So, beast bow, beast ribs, and beast ear pretty much.

We’re going to move. We got to think this through actually. Okay. So if I know that definitely I don’t want to deal with beast bow right now, right? So if nobody has three plus understanding, but if we if we wound it, this doesn’t really matter.

If we don’t wound it, he’s going to stay where he is on this one. Uh if we don’t wound it, it’s going to jump backwards. Getting it closer to our girl is kind of where we want him. I think we’re gonna try to wound it. So, we’ll put beast ribs up.

Beast ribs will be the next thing we get. Um, we’re going to then So, he’s done. And now that we know how ground fighting works too, I’m I’m going to feel a little bit more free to set things up. So, cat up bow guy. He’s going to move on top of the face.

Um, he has to use his action to climb on top of there. Not going to get to actually shoot. Uh, Sophia is going to go one, two, three, four, five. She will use her active. Oh, no, she won’t.

She’ll She’ll just go there. Won’t do anything. She’s going to hang out. Almost did something that made If I would have used my activation to rawide headband with her, it would have triggered uh triggered him to attack. So, she’s going to move there, not use her activation token.

Uh, she is going to use the rawhide headband to reveal the next two AI cards. And I can put these back in any order. So, uh, we’re going to put grasp back and then bat around because, uh, we’re going to hope hope that next turn we’re going to get a wound in and get that two attacks, that two up to hit out of the board. So, that’s everybody. The lion doesn’t pull AI cards, doesn’t do anything because he is ground fighting.

He’s playfully waiting for us to get close and do something. So, Monster Controller gets moved to Alexios on his turn. He He’s going to stay where he is for now. Um, I could move him on top of that face and potentially get a chance to shoot. I have better luck with my bone darts, but I don’t think that that is necessary right now.

We’re going to swing in with the so he gets plus two range, which doesn’t really matter cuz we’re so close. Catgut bow goes he gets plus two accuracy. So now my catgut bow is at a five up. And also uh they all have one survival right now just in case you guys are curious. So now kaka bow cumbersome when you attack before rolling to hit you may reduce the speed by this one to get plus two accuracy.

That’s interesting. So I could only roll one dice with plus two from this plus two from accuracy. I’m now hitting on threes and because I know like I really want to get that wound card out of here. the this I think I think we’re gonna we’re gonna do that. So he’s gonna aim.

He’s gonna aim. So we need a three or higher. We got it. So that’s the ribs. And now we’re looking for a five up here.

We don’t wound it. Terrible. That’s terrible news for us. Uh, terrible news for the heroes. We’re still kind of in this limbo.

Um, Sophia will move here because there’s no reason to to use the raw headband. Sophia is not going to do anything. And we’re going to try again to hopefully have better luck next round. So, Monster Controller is now on Kiop. This guy is uh going to use the cirlet again to look at our wounds.

We have beast ear. Uh we definitely don’t want the line to jump back. Uh we’re going to have to go this way. Okay. So now we’re going to try to shoot him again.

Um same thing. We’re going to aim. So we only roll one dice. Looking for a three up. Just barely got it.

Uh, now we know we’re here. We really want a wound here. Looking for five or higher. All right, there we go. So, he’s wounded.

We got very strong AI attack off the AI deck. I just realized I have the wrong I have I have every single card there is in AI deck. Got there’s a whole lot of cards in that deck right now. Okay, so I fixed the AI deck. Uh, he went he went.

Now Sophia and Clive P Jr. are ready to bring the heat. So we have scrap sword first. She is coming in. She has plus one luck, but she’s on two speed.

Five is the hit. We got two both hits. That’s great news. So, and also something else I I realized is I I pull these two and now I can pick what order I come at them. So, uh we definitely want the failure to go last.

We’re going to try to go at the beast knee first. We have plus one luck on this. Three strength. And also, I think I was calling accuracy. I had accuracy and strength mixed up.

I think so. Now, wow. We’re looking for a five here, but a nine or a 10 crit. But that misses. So that’s no big deal.

Nothing bad happens here. But now this one is going to suck if we fail. So same thing. Looking for a five or a nine up. There’s a seven.

So that is a success. It is not a critical, but it is a wound. So, we’re off to a pretty good start here. So, now it’s our girl Sophia the strong. She’s going to get her fist and tooth attack in now because we have to get that in to get our weapon art our weapon arts up.

So, because of weapon proficiency, fist and tooth, I don’t know if that actually does anything for us right now. Proficiencies, nothing actually happens until we become a specialist. Uh, so we don’t have to worry about that. But we do need to make sure we get an unarmed combat attack off. So now it’s fist and tooth, which is two dice.

Um, my accuracy is still eight. We’re in the blind spot, so we get plus one to accuracy. We’re looking for sevens here. We got one. So there’s a wound.

Okay. So now we have plus two strength. So we are wounding on a six and there’s there’s plus one luck too. So looking for a six or a nine up especially that misses. So a failure full move the monster forward in a straight line.

Cancel all hits now out of range. Any survivors passed over suffer grab. So my movement is five, one, two, three. That’s an obstacle. So that that stops him.

He is stopped there. Uh and now we’re done. But ground fighting gets discarded. Last time we didn’t get it a second time. So hopefully we can do the same thing and get lucky again.

Okay, so now it’s over to the lions for so we draw AI card alert. It’s a mood. Whenever a survivor moves into a space within the zone of death, stop their movement. They get a priority target, discard alert, and perform basic action. Uh when the monster is knocked down, discard alert.

Uh, okay. So, we got to try to knock it down, but we don’t really have anything that can specifically knock it down. But, uh, if we come within four squares of it, he’s going to get crazy. So, we don’t want to move those until if we move those, we’re going to get a he’s going to get a free attack on us. We’re going to try to come in here, shoot him because we don’t have to move him because that’s us.

So, monster controller is over to Theren who is about to shoot this guy. Uh, this time we I think we don’t aim because we just want to try to get as many wounds in as we can. So, looking for fives here to wound. We got one in. Totally forgot of the luck mask on the last roll.

What a silly head. So, I don’t even remember what I rolled. I’m not going to forget it this time. So, now we’re critting on a six up. So, if we roll a five, it’s just normal wound.

If we roll a six, we’re critting. Anything else is a miss. All right. So, there’s a crit. We’re busting off or I’m going to remember that we get crits this time.

Your precise attack ruins the monster straining tendon. The white line is knocked down. Perfect. So, that gets rid of alert right from the jump. Alert gets discarded.

Persistent injury. Ruptured tendon when it starts its movement. roll one d10 on a result of one. The white lion is knocked down. So this is this is great for us actually.

So now that he’s knocked down, um I think we only we can hit him on a three. I think I’m gonna double check hit on a three up. This is great. It’s knocked down. Hey, we kind of look like we know what we’re doing.

So this guy’s here. Um, I could spend his movement or his his activation to look at the cards, but I think instead I’m just gonna go one, two, three, four, five. He’s going to try to shoot with his bone dart while he can because bone darts normally just miss all the time, but now that we only need a three up, I feel pretty good about it. So, we’re going to throw one one bone dart. We hit.

Now we’re going to try to wound. Uh we wound on fives. Double checking. It is a six. Here we go.

So that’s another wound. We’re doing good. I forgot to put the wound in the actual wound itself from the crit. So there’s two cards into the wound bin. Feeling really good.

I’m feeling I’m getting cocky here. All right, Sophia’s turn. I don’t think I can move on top of the bug patch. So, that’s a little frustrating, but we can go one, two, three, four, five. Uh, this is this is uh Clanestra with a scrap sword or excuse me, Clip with the scrap sword.

So again, uh, two attacks, just need a three. We got a six and a nine. Nice. Both of those hit two wounds. See what we’re at.

So we have a reaction to being wounded and essentially a free one striking at the neck. So we’re going to try to hit the neck first. Uh, looking for fives again. That one’s a miss. Of course, we could have really used that one.

Uh, now we’re trying to wound here on fives. It is a nine. Uh, so it’s wounded. We’ll put the card over here. And now it has a reaction.

Cats hate this. The monster is very upset. Attacker gets the priority target. So now, let me go grab the priority target secured on Cly B. That’s funny.

All right. Yeah. Don’t don’t touch the cat’s butt. Uh we’re doing good on the wounds, though. We’re chunking this guy.

So now Sophia, she will go one, two, three. Um she can’t, you know, I’m a fool. When I didn’t have to move, I should have bone clubbed him. Uh and then I should have waited to fist and tooth when I did have to chase him. Uh lesson learned there.

But we’re going to try to fist and tooth him again because we do got to wound him. Uh we got two two speed. Uh we’re in the blind spot. So hitting on sevens. We got one hit.

Uh and now we are wounding on sixes. That is a six. I didn’t draw a card yet. Okay. Wound.

All good. Boom. Boom. I’m going much faster, too. I’m starting I understand the pace of the game.

Really enjoying it. Now we’re back over to the lion. When the white lion starts its movement, roll 1d10. Okay, so I guess we draw the AR card first. Cunning.

At the end of each monster turn, the monster extends its claws. If there are any adjacent survivors, target one at random and full move directly away from all threats. Target suffers a grab. Oh, that’s an S. That shouldn’t be in there.

I was going to say that seems a little bit crazy. I guess I didn’t do a good job at getting Oh, that that should have been a B. That’s what that is. That should be a B. It’s It’s late.

It’s getting close to midnight here. I’m going to blame it on that. So, this is what we got. Vicious Claw. Uh, so before it moves, roll 1d10.

Okay. Actually, I guess that would be before I draw the card. So, 1 10. It’s good. It draws a card.

Pick a target random survivor in range. Uh, which is this one and that one. So, we’ll do odds evens. That one’s also in range. So, uh, let’s see.

1 to three, four to six, 7, 8, 9. Oh, wait. No, actually, sorry. We priority priority target. So, he’s going to go here.

Uh to to her. So, speed two accuracy two up. Uh both hit both to the feet. Luckily, I have two armor. Uh that’s both gone now.

And then target gains one bleeding token. Uh oh. So, she gets two bleeding tokens, which that could certainly be problematic there. And all right, enough nothing with lost hands. Okay.

All right. All things considered, that’s not too bad. Uh, now that it’s been attacked, I believe the party target goes away, but I’m not sure on that. I’ll double check that. Uh, but for now, it’s back to our turn.

Kaka bow. Starting it off again. Actually, uh, this guy’s going to go one, two, three, four. He’s going to go back here. He’s going to use the cat cirlet to reveal the next three hit locations.

Put them back in any order. Um, we’re going to try to get a we’re going to try to get the glorious main cuz if we crit him, uh, we’ll get we’ll get that. And then the rest of these we don’t really care about for right now. They’re pretty much the same thing. Okay, so that’s his turn.

So, now we’re going to come in. We’re going to try to crit. Uh, also, Monster Controller is now on Sophia. Uh, we’re going to try to crit again. So, this time we’re looking for fives here.

We got one one nine. So, there it is. We know what that’s going to be. Now, we are again, we’re critting on a six or higher. It’s what we’re really hoping for.

We didn’t get it and we missed. Very sad. That would have been very cool to have gotten that, but that’s okay. Sophia, uh, she’s gonna one, two. We’re going to try to hit him with this fist and tooth again.

I really want to get points in weapon proficiency. So, again, looking for sevens. Got a seven. Uh, now we’re here looking at we’re looking at uh sixes. Man, she just can’t she can’t seem to hit anything.

That was a failure. Performing basic action targeting the attacker. So, he swings over here. Basic action. Uh we’re looking for Oh, two ups.

That’s right. Basic action. Both of those hit. One damage each. Uh one to the head, one to the waist.

So, she’s down to one armor here. One to the head, one to the waist. Nothing nothing fancy beyond that. Uh, this attack gains plus two damage. Oh, that’s terrible, actually.

So, now the that’s a light wound on the waist and a heavy wound on the head. She’s now knocked down. So, that is actually terrible. That’s okay. She’s been there before.

Uh, I probably should have tried to dodge that. I forget I can do that. That’s okay. She’s knocked down. We’re back over to Kip.

So, Cly hits and I have I have plus one evasion. I need to look up what evasion does, but I’m going to keep that how it is cuz I mess that up and it hurts me, but I will remember it going forward. So, now ClyP is coming in. She needs fours. She gets one.

Man, this one is that dice ain’t doing too good. I’m going to swap that one out. So, uh get fours now. I am She crits on nines also. We’re looking for five A5 here.

Not it. Okay. That’s everybody. Not looking good for Sophia if we get hit in the head. That’s for sure.

So, let’s see. We’ll probably get the one that targets the head. Uh, victim of grabbed last round. Nobody got grabbed. Closest knockdown.

Oh, she’s So, he’s going at Sophia anyway. Two speed, two accuracy. Both attacks hit three damage each. Man, that’s a good hope. We don’t get ahead waste, which is bad.

Uh, that’s going to be two rolls on the waist, one on the arm. All right, we’re rolling on the waist. table. So, this might be it for Sophia the Strong. It was a good run for her.

Actually, no, it wasn’t. She can’t hit anything. She’s Sophia the inaccurate. That is for sure. All right.

So, first wound onto the onto the waist. An eight slashback. Making a sudden movement is excruciating painful. You cannot surge until the showdown ends. Gain one bleeding token.

I don’t even know what a surge is. So, uh I guess I need I should look that up. Maybe that’s something I should be doing. So, she can’t surge. And she has a wound token.

Now she takes another point of damage. We roll it again. Uh-oh. Gets two bleeding tokens. So she now has three bleeding tokens.

And then after damage, she gets another bleeding token. Oh wow. So she is now at four bleeding tokens and she’s already knocked down. So she gets knocked down again. Uh, so she won’t be hitting back up at the end of the monster’s turn.

She is just barely hanging on. She can only take one more uh one more blood token. That’s very, really not good. Okay. Uh, that’s it for the monster.

We’re over here. Uh, he’s going to look at the hit locations. Oh, I forgot to roll to see if his turn happens. His turn does happen. Uh Okay, so I put those back in that order.

Uh, we’re going to shoot in with cat gut bow as as usual. Looking for fives here. Awesome. Uh those miss uh I think if I leave I think Sophia we just got to accept that Sophia is dead probably she’s knocked down so she’s not going to be a threat hopefully. Uh yeah we’re just going to try to try to get some wounds in here.

She’s going to swing in. I could encourage but I if she’s gone she’s gone. Yeah. Uh there’s not much I’m going to be able to do for her anyway. So I don’t want to lose this opportunity to get some damage in.

Looking for fours. Get one. I was really hoping I get a crit here, but it’s probably not going to happen. We don’t do anything. So the monster a roars roll 1d10 on a four up.

The attacker suffers one brain damage and is knocked down. Uh awesome. So, she has no insanity and she is now knocked down. Oh, man. I see I got cocky and now it is looking terrible for our heroes.

All right, so over to the lion. The monster has no wounds. Discard lick wounds and draw an AI card. Full move the way line directly away from all survivors. Turn and face the closest survival survivor and heal heal one.

So, one, two. I just realized all my survivors are negative one speed. Oh, that would have been huge. I got to remember that going forward. I kind I’ I’ve kind of cheated, but we’re in a bad spot.

So, I’m going to remember that going forward as this line is running away. So, that’s one, two, three, four, five, six. heals one. So, we put one one back and this goes to the top of the AI deck. Oh, wow.

Oh, man. So, we can just keep healing. We’ve got to get a wound in to get that off the top of the deck. Yikes. Okay.

End of the monster’s turn. She’s back up. Sophia lives around. Monster controller is Alexios. Goodness.

Okay, he has one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight inch range. So, he’ll I’ll move there. Shoot the lion. Looking for fives. We got one.

I should have used his ability to look at the cards. That’s okay. I’m getting sleepy. I should probably stop. I’m going to start making more mistakes.

But we’re trying to crit on a six up. We don’t crit. We do hit. This is what we needed. So now we know the lick wounds is in the wound stack.

Uh that was a success. Sophia can only move five spaces. She’s she had a plus speed plus one permanent speed, but she’s down. So down one. So she’s back to five.

Uh one, two, three, four, five. I don’t think we want to do that. I think we only go one, two, three, four, five. Make the line come back over to her. She’s knocked down.

Can’t do anything. Uh, I think we’re gonna Boom. There it is. Over to the monster’s turn. Vicious Claw.

Pick a target. Random survivor in range. Uh, that is not going to view that one as a target because she’s knocked down. So there’s gonna be one, two, or actually before he moves, we roll. Remember, seven, he gets to move.

One, two, three, four, five, six. Uh, so he’s back to here. Uh, I did something wrong, but he he if he moving if he’s moving six, he’d be back to there where he was. Uh he’s going to now make an attack on on our lucky guy. He’s probably going to die.

Both of those hit. Uh that’s very bad. Oh, there’s only one damage though. So he takes That’s not good. That heavy injury is probably going to kill him.

The head is literally the only place we didn’t want that to go. Uh, he’s knocked down. So, if he takes another one to the head, uh, he’s going to probably he’s going to definitely be dead. Okay, she’s back up. This is in the discard pile.

What do we do? What do we do here? He’s going to go and encourage him. So, he’s out of Alexios is out of his survival. He’s going to shoot tack out bow in.

We We only can ever seem to get one hit with this thing, but we need a five. There it is. Need a six to crit. We finally get a crit. Insane.

The trauma of this impact fractures the white line shoulder minus one movement. So, we know he has a minus one speed. Put that token in. We deal a wound. Now, scrap sword is going to go in.

We’re looking at fives now. Both fives hit. On a perfect hit, the strength is plus4. So, um, luck doesn’t it’s not it’s not like luck where it’s going to increase our chance to crit, but it does increase our chance to wound. So, now our strength is a seven.

So, we we wound on anything with a one, which is very cool. I’m sure we’ll probably probably roll that one right here. But we did in fact roll the one. Awesome. So on failure, full move forward in a straight line.

Cancel all hits. Any survivor passed over. So he’s going to it’s an obstruction. Uh he runs into there. So at least nothing bad happens off of the failure.

Um she Sophia is going to go crazy. One, two, three, four. Uh, we’re going to She’s going to try to fist and toot this guy again. I doubt it’s going to happen, but Oh, it does happen. We hit him once.

Can we actually wound this guy? We are wounding on sixes. It fell off the table. Sorry. We finally wound.

We finally wound. Feels good. The blow ends in the monster’s leg. I’ll take it. Finally wound.

We’re going to get our weapon proficiency if she lives, which is uh very unlikely, I think, at this point. That’s everybody. It’s the monster’s turn. AI card. But it’s a mood.

Uh so we’ve had this mood before. We don’t get attacked. If we get this is actually pretty pretty good. I need to start using my abilities to kind of sack the deck again. Okay, we’re back to here.

We’re going to look at the top three hit locations. Strange hand, I think. Uh Oh, yeah. We definitely want to do that. Oh, the trap is coming up.

Um we’re going to try to get rid of that next. Okay. Oh, wait. We don’t We don’t want the trap. We want to keep pushing that to the bottom.

Yeah, we want to keep pushing that to the bottom. I got to remember that I need to keep using that ability. So, strange hand is is next on the deck. Cat gut. Need fives.

Awesome. Of course. Of course. That’s not going to hit. She’s going to swing in looking for fives again.

Uh, we got one. Oh, that wasn’t six. It was a two. I just rolled when I slid it. So, now this is here.

A four does not get us there as always. Uh, basic action. Target the attacker. Here we go. Uh, twos on twos.

Both hit one damage each. She gets another bleeding token. The spots are waste and hand. That’s all I want to roll today. Waist.

Luckily, she’s still pretty pretty heavily armored. She has less armor in her legs, so that doesn’t really do too much to her there. Sophia’s in the back. She’s going to swing this club. Will she connect with this club?

Looking for fives. We got one. Uh, so with our strength, we need anything but one to wound with a club on fleshy gut. Oh, we crit fleshy gut. Hell yeah, that makes up for it.

White Lion vomits all over you and it feels awesome. Gain one basic resource and plus three insanity. That puts her to five insanity now. She’s an insane cannibal. We get a random basic resource.

Where are my resource cards? Here. So, we get a monster hide. Another wound. All right, we’re getting pretty close to killing this thing.

There’s only one AI. There’s only one wound left. So, we need to do or there’s only one AI card left. So, we just need to do two wounds. But I am done now.

Okay. So, we have Vicious Claw, random survivor in range. Um, let’s see. Uh, red, white, black. Whichever one’s highest.

Uh, white. So, red, white, black. What I did going at our boy, who we did not want them to go at. Two attacks, two up. Both hit.

One damage each. Uh, one to the head, one to the waist. The head is the He’s going to try He’s going to use his survival to try to dodge the one at the head. I got to look up what that actually means. He’s just going to flat out dodge the head hit.

He goes to zero. Uh, but he takes the the waste hit and he had armor there. So, that’s actually not not bad. All right, so that saved him. I need to remember to use my survival abilities.

I was used to not having survival points. So, we we make it through. All right, we should be able to kill this guy. Uh, it should be keyword should be able to kill this guy. So, first things first, we got to look at the top three.

We got to get that trap out of here. Uh, traps on the bottom. Do we want to chop try to chop the ding-dong off again? I guess we’ll chop his tail, but I don’t know. We already have I had a tail before.

We’ll try to try to chop the tail off here. Uh, I was going in. You’d think I’d remember that we hit on fives. I never roll it. We finally get two hits at the very end here.

Hell yeah. So, the tail and the groin. This could end it right here. Going at the beast tail first. Critting on sixes.

Of course, we don’t crit, but we do wound it. Um, he would move. Wait, I think uh a reflex happens when we no matter what. Right. So, I need to I I just realized that was a reflex.

I’m going to switch to order that because of the reflex. Uh cuz I don’t want to screw myself that bad. So, uh we don’t crit here. Uh we hit him right in the ding-dong. Priority target.

He gets priority target. No, this is a permanent injury. That was the last AI card in the wound stack. So now we’re trying to get the beast tail. We’re looking for a crit here.

We do crit this. So we get one white lion tail resource one extra which is awesome. He gets the white lion tail resource and that kills the white lion. Boom. So when we we get those resources, we can shuffle them back in.

Uh I believe. But anyway, um I don’t know if we shuffle back in or not, but now we get four white lion resources and four Oh, wait. Whoops. I only had a small. Okay.

So, we get, four white lion resources, and four regular resources. So, oh, cool. Another perfect hide and three monster hides, golden whiskers, shimmering man. Oh, that’s good. I know why I wanted that.

Another set of gray cat bones and some sineu. So, we also that we got a lion hide and another monster hide from other things. Uh, going to call it for tonight. See you tomorrow or tomorrow, the day after tomorrow in the settlement phase. All right, so I realized I should probably record this.

I just drew nickname for the settlement event. Um, I guess we we roll a dice for each table and that’s what our nickname is. Even though we’ve already kind of nickname Sophia, we’ll start with her. Two. Dingle.

Nice. Dingle hero. Another. She gets another strength. This is meant to be.

She is a monster. She’s a dingle monster. Uh, Dingle Dingle Hero uh, of the antelope. Sophia. Okay.

Dingle Hero of the Antelopee. I don’t think I’ll call her that. I think I’ll stick to calling her Sophia the Strong. Um, okay. On to the next one.

This is Alexios. He is a three. He’s also a dingle. A dingle savior. Saviors always use this result.

Uh do I am I supposed to roll three and then pick one? Because now that savers always use this result. So you do get all three. So he’s Dingle, Savior of the Lion. So he doesn’t really get anything cool.

Okay. Uh onto the next one, I guess. Goliath is four. Also, Dingle Fool of Darkness. So she gets another minus one permanent speed.

So she’s very slow. Uh she only has three movement now. Okay. Uh Dingle, what was her name? Dingle.

Fool of darkness. Uh, not really. I mean, this one this one’s better than the other one, I guess. But last one, Dingle. Of course, we’re just the Dingle Squad.

Savior of the Antelopee. All right. So, that doesn’t do anything to him. Okay. So, that event’s done, I guess.

And now we move on to triggering timeline events. Uh, so we’re on endless screams. I’m going to check. I trying to The art’s a little bit crazy for YouTube, but we can now hunt the antelope. So, I’ll mark that on the settlement.

Um, I don’t know if if we’re actually ready to fight the antelope. I don’t know how strong it is. Uh, but I think we’re going to jump into it anyway. But I can now I can fight the screaming antelope. Somebody’s going to get plus one courage.

We’re going to give that to Clemnestra. She’s ready to go. So, she gets plus one courage. That’s going to trigger the bold story event. So, we’ll do that next.

And she is the voice of a reason. So, now for a reason, we roll a dice. Eight. The survivor stands firm in the face of screaming unknown. Slow and strong words change the settlement’s fear into tingling excitement.

After all, the endless screams might be an opportunity to gain knowledge and harness the darkness. The survivor gains the orator of death. Fighting art. That’s cool. Okay.

Returning survivors gain plus two insanity. Oh, I like that. So two two all everybody Sophia is now seven insanity so she is definitely insane. She’s big time insane. Uh awesome.

It’s nice. It feels so good when good things happen. So now we just triggered the bold story. So I’ll turn to that. uh that happened in the settlement phase.

The bonds forged between survivors give you hope. Uh she’s a matchmaker. When uh she’s a returning survivor, you may spend a action point to intimacy. Cool. And uh I guess I roll a 1d10 a nine plus one permanent strength.

Cool. Okay, so now we’re back to very close to me. I just realized something terrible. I’ve been cheating again. Uh I don’t actually have the encourage survival skill unlocked.

I thought I could use all of those. Um I didn’t realize you have to unlock it from innovations. Uh so fix that going forward. I don’t really know how to fix it in the back. Uh but essentially I cheated bad last time because I used that and I forgot that KIP can only move four spaces.

So uh that doesn’t feel good, but it is what it is. Okay, so I used one to buy an organ grinder and then I innovated. Got ammonia. Going to build a whisker harp line headdress bandages and the last raw hide armor set I can build. It looks like we can only build three.

Um I have one more. I’m going to do the intimacy event and then uh I’ll call it a night. All right. So, Quentoestra, the voice over reason uh even though she’s deaf herself. I think that’s awesome.

Okay. So, we’re using we’re using our last Endeavor point to intimacy with her ability matchmaker. Uh if it’s the first time your settlement gets brought to a new survivor against plus one population, the survivors ponder existence principle new life. As your settlement grows, don’t forget to apply your chosen new life principle. It will greatly affect the outcome of your campaign.

Uh if your settlement innovated bed, the new survivor gains plus one permanent strength. We did not do that. So, I guess we just roll roll on the table. It’s an eight. The settlement gains plus one population.

The male and female survivors share a deep bond and gain plus 10 survival each. Uh, our survival limit is two. So uh I guess the will be the mate I guess and then I’m not sure it goes to two but it I don’t know how we raise our limit uh and we get plus population, which is good. Desperately needed. So, we’re at seven now.

And now I don’t know. Uh, principal new life. I guess we go to that. So, story event principal new life. So now, do we go without mercy or with affection?

Okay, so this one there’s a chance I could skip the next hunt. I definitely don’t want to do that. Uh cuz she skipped out the last one. I just don’t I don’t want to have to skip any more hunts with people that I’ve already made. So protect the young.

Uh the settlement gathers around the newborn. Never have they seen something so precious and meaningful. The parents each gain two survival, which doesn’t matter for us. Plus one evasion is pretty cool. Or if I get a six to a 10, the children raised, they’re down with hope.

The newborn survivors gain plus two understanding and the strategist. Uh so looks like this one if you if you want to set them out, it could I think that’s probably one’s probably better, but uh I don’t want to sit out anybody. So we’re going to roll on with affection an eight. The children get plus two understanding and strategist. So I’m just going to write child for now.

kits plus two understanding and strategist. All right, so that’s how everything shakes out for now. I need to update my population names. Uh I need to make the character sheet for the baby. Um does it’s kind of funny how that’s a little baby guy, but now he’s going to go on the next hunt.

Um, and I need to make the decision of do we go after the white cat again or do we go after the screaming antelope? I don’t know anything about the screaming antelope. Um, we almost had two people die last time and I cheated so I probably would have died. I didn’t intentionally cheat. Uh, I think I got to fight the white lion again without without cheating for my own self.

Uh, we’re not getting any white lion claws. We’re not getting any white fur. Uh, I got to double check. Are they in here? Did I do something wrong?

Okay, so there is white fur in here. Uh there is lion claws in here. So hopefully we start getting some of those so I can at least make I’d like to make one set of cat armor before moving on. Um I’m thinking about making some new miniatures. I might I might see if build the raw hide guys.

So I got a lot might take a this will be the hobby day. Might take a break here before we go into the next flight to build out some more figures. So, uh, this is you’re going to see this on Tuesday. This will be Tuesday’s video. Um, I’m recording this Monday night.

It’s almost 1:00 now, 1:00 a. m. So, thanks for being here. See you tomorrow. And then Wednesday will be the hobby video.

And Thursday, we’re back into the campaign.
