Kingdom Death Monster Episode 4

/ 45 min read

A brutal second hunt against the White Lion - losing survivors, starting over with a new settlement, and falling deeper in love with Kingdom Death Monster.

Quick Note on Content

If you’re getting sick of Kingdom Death, don’t worry—going back to more traditional hobby content soon. I need to finish the Infinity Commission and start painting these KDM minis.

My plan: at least one KDM video every two or three days, plus regular hobby content. This game is scratching so many itches. If you’re on the fence, definitely pick it up.

The Hunt Setup

This time we have terrain:

  • Grass - Provides evasion
  • Bug patch - Roll on a table
  • Debris pile - Searchable

The lion starts with Ground Fighting—doesn’t draw AI cards, but if a survivor activates in the death zone (one space around it), it performs a basic action.

The Plan

  1. New member searches the debris (she has nothing to lose)
  2. Death Mask guy with darts shoots from range, fishing for crits
  3. One-armed Orcus throws darts
  4. Sophia the Strong with the club waits for the lion to come to her

Debris Pile Jackpot

New girl searches the trash… rolls a 10. Find rare gear: Scrap Sword! The debris pile is archived. We’re off to a great start.

The Brutal Fight

The showdown was rough:

Death Mask Toginus lands a critical wound with fist and tooth, getting a persistent injury on the lion—fractured shoulder, -1 movement.

Sophia keeps missing with that bone club. Rolling sixes to hit and coming up empty repeatedly.

Clinestra (new girl with the scrap sword) becomes the unexpected hero, landing multiple wounds from the blind spot.

Casualties

Orcus gets chomped. Both hits to the feet—heavy wound triggers injury table… blood shoots from ephemeral artery. Dead in seconds.

Bye-bye, Orcy. That’s what you get for not hitting anything with those bone darts.

The Kill

It comes down to Sophia the Strong and Clinestra. Sophia finally lands a hit with a 10—a lantern—and wounds the lion for the kill.

Clinestra the Castrator (earned that name) also nearly dead but survived.

Settlement Event: Disaster

Rolling for year two settlement event… Clinging Mist. Rolled a 10.

Does the settlement have a Guidepost? No.

Returning survivors must either:

  • Go on another hunt immediately without healing or changing gear
  • Start a new settlement

I already cleared the sheets and healed them. Looking at the FAQ, if you can’t heal, these two would probably die in one hit anyway.

Time to start over.

Settlement Two: Hezekiah

New settlement name: Hezekiah. Fitting since the Castrator is deaf and Sophia has no jaw—she can’t speak.

We keep all resources and gear from the hunt. Taking Cannibalize again since they’re already cannibals.

Building the New Team

Sophia the Strong - Full rawhide, bone club, +2 strength now (ate a sword beetle successfully!)

Kipi Jr. - Full rawhide, frenzy drink, inherited the scrap sword from Clinestra (who has to sit out)

Death Mask Archer - Catgut bow + death mask = crit fishing from range

Support Character - Cat eye circlet to reveal and reorder hit locations, staying in back

Learnings

  1. The bone club kept letting me down—Sophia did all her damage with fist and tooth before her jaw got broken
  2. Sophia’s +1 strength means she hits on fives, not sixes (I forgot this the entire last fight!)
  3. Ground Fighting is great for us when we have ranged weapons

Final Thoughts

Only have six population now instead of 13. Much lower margin for error.

But I’m deeper in love with this game than ever. The emergent storytelling—Sophia the Strong earning her bruiser identity through gameplay, Clinestra becoming the Castrator, the narrative of loss and survival—this is exactly what I wanted from solo gaming.

Back to the hunt.

Transcript

Okay. And if you’re getting sick of of Kingdom Death, don’t worry. Going to be back on like more traditional hobby content. Uh one, I’m going to start painting them, but two, uh we had to finish up the Infinity Commission. So, I’ll get back to painting.

Having a lot of fun. My plan going forward is maybe like once at least every once every like two or three days, I want to get a KDM video out. But I’m also going to go back to like I’m going to try to do like on the days I drop a KDM video, I’ll try to do two. So, one will be the hobby, one will be the KDM campaign cuz I’m loving this. Not going to stop playing it.

This is scratching so many itches for me. If you’re on the fence about it, definitely pick it up. I’m only I’m barely into the game and I’m in love with it. So, see you. >> Look at this Easter egg.

I got spiderw webs on mine. Authentic. >> All right, we’re back. It’s time to hunt. This time we have terrain.

Uh the grass provides the evasion, the bug in the debris pile. We roll on a table and stuff happens. Um I really like how this is kind of like a puzzle in deployment. So, the lion is here. This is our new member who doesn’t really have anything.

Her job is to just dig through the trash. Hopefully avoid the lion. This guy has a death mask, so he’s going to have very high crits if we can hit. Uh, this guy is one armed now, but he has the darts. Uh, this is Sophia the Strong with the club.

The lion is in ground, what is it called? Um, ground ground fighting. Uh, so he doesn’t draw AI cards. When a survivor spends an activation token in the zone of death, which is this one space around him, it does the basic action. So, uh, effectively, we get first move on this one is how I’m reading that because there’s not going to be any AI cards drawn uh, for it to do anything.

So, I think that means we get to go first. That’s how I’m assuming. I’ll play that. Uh what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna shoot him with our dart. Probably miss or not wound him, but piss him off.

And hopefully he runs over here because Sophia has that club. She’s not able to move and attack. So the goal of this is to hopefully get the lion mad, have him go attack Orcus, and then Sophia gets to swing back into him. This guy will hopefully get into this evasion evasion patch that should be right here and uh hit it hit from the line in the blind spot. And then again, she’s just going to sit there digging through the trash.

So, we’ll start with her digging through the trash. We get a 10. That’s hopefully something good. Find rare gear. Gain one scrap sword gear card.

Archive this terrain. Wow. So, we’re off to a great start. So, that’s off the table. Uh, I’ll make a note that I need to get that after.

And or actually, I believe that since she gets that, she gets to hold it. So, let me get that now. Okay. So, uh, now it’s time to actually fight this thing. And we only have one person with a ranged attack.

I don’t really want to throw my founding stones. So, it’s going to be all on Orcus here. Orcus is going to try to hit it. Looking for sevens. That’s not a seven.

Um, uh, I guess everybody else passes. Orcus tries to shoot it again. That’s a seven. Now that’s a hit. So, we’re here.

All right. Now, we’re trying to wound. Um, uh, if we wound it, it loses ground fighting, which would be pretty cool. Uh, but if not, it runs at a basic action. So, we’ll see what happens.

Of course, we miss. Still has ground fighting when the white line is wound. So, we don’t discard ground fighting until it’s wounded. Still has wounded. Uh, and now he performs a basic action targeting the attacker.

So, now he goes one, two. Is that? Yeah. Two. I mean, he can get there.

He has six movement. They’re only five spaces away. So, he’s here. He’s targeting Orcus. He is uh with his basic attack.

It’s Oh, his basic action. What’s going on here? What am I looking at? Okay. His basic action speed two plus two dice.

Anything two or higher hits. Both of those hit for one damage. Now we roll. Body rolls. Poor is probably dead anyway.

I I sneezed. I didn’t flop the dice rolls. I just sneezed. So, I cut my sneeze out. So, he gets uh one damage to the leg and one to the hand.

Forgot to erase his card. All right. So, one to the leg. That’s a light. And then one to the arms.

So, both of those are light. All right. So, he’s still alive. We’re lucky here. Still has ground fighting because we haven’t we haven’t actually wounded it.

But actually that’s that’s kind of even that’s like terrible actually because even though he still has ground fighting. Uh if I go to attack him with Sophia, he’s going to get a free attack at Sophia, which is a little bit frustrating. We did not ground fighting off. But what we’re going to do, um he’s here. He has ground fighting.

Sophia has a bunch of armor. I uh I think we still just go for it because now what what else are we going to do? I guess I can move. Actually, would that be better if I if I go one, two, or actually if I keep him outside of the cat’s range and throw a founding stone at him. So, one, two, three, four, five, six.

So, he’s out of the cat’s range. I think we got to throw our founding stone to knock off ground fighting. I think that’s really our only option to not I don’t I don’t want to risk like Orgas got lucky. He didn’t get killed. I don’t want to risk Sophia.

So, we’re going to have to dish our founding stone on this guy. He’s going to throw it. It automatically hits and inflicts a critical wound. So, let’s see where we’re at. Oh, wow.

There’s a lot right there. Uh, but it’s a critical wound. Cancel the reaction. The trauma fractures a white lion’s shoulder. He gets a minus one movement token.

Oh, wow. So, I’ll I’ll definitely take that. We put AI card in the trash. And now it’s a minus one movement. So, we’ll just I got I saw that strength, so we know we’ll use that minus one movement.

Uh, ground fighting’s gone. Now, Sophia can get a free whale on him. But this is I think that was probably the best thing we could hope for. It’s good that the founding stone really helped us out. Okay.

So now Sophia it is two two speed hitting on sixes and we miss. Very cool. Uh, this person hasn’t moved. She’ll move. One, two, three, four, five.

She’s back up in there. And now it is the lion’s turn. So, I was really hoping Sophia would get a hit in. Let’s see where we’re at. Bat around the closest threat facing in range.

Uh so odds will be odds will be Orcus and evens will be Sophia. So he’s an attack Orcus. So it’s uh two speed accuracy is five. Uh we got one. I don’t think monsters can crit.

So that’s one damage luckily. two one damage to the handle. That’s not good. So, that’s a heavy wound. He is knocked down and now uh he suffers one brain damage.

So, now he is down to two. Okay, not that bad. Not terrible. Uh now, so if he has a strong, he’s got to go in twos. Looking for Let me make sure.

I was making sure. Uh, so yeah, just sitting on sixes. Roll the same thing as last time. Let’s put those away. She misses.

Uh, Orcus has bone darts. Uh, looking for sevens. Also misses. Okay. Okay.

This guy’s going to go one, two, three, four, five. She’ll go one, two, three, four, five. She’s going to test out her trusty new sword. So, scrap sword is two. Looking for fives.

Both hit. Oh, here we go. Uh, on a perfect hit. We did not get a perfect hit. Uh, so these are This is what we’re trying to hit.

Uh the first one we’re looking for a five that wounds it. So awesome. So AI card into the discard. Um I think now it’s this one. You strike at the monster’s throat.

That is not a critical. I was used to the other one. Okay, so if it’s a critical wound, you roll on the table. Otherwise, it’s just a normal move. Dang, that could have been pretty cool to get a critical on.

Okay, so that one’s gone. Hell yeah. So, she’s coming in. She’s new. We underestimated her.

She just dug this trash sword out of the debris pile and she’s wrecking. That’s pretty badass. That’s two. She just put two wounds into the back of the lion. Uh, she’s in the blind spot.

So, does that count as a crit? Actually, because I rolled a nine. Uh, I need to see are only natural tens crit. Okay, blind spots get plus one accuracy. So, it’s not a crit.

Uh, that’s what blind spots are. Accuracy, not crit. Got to commit that to memory. All right. So, now we are done.

Oh, wait. I put those. We just did. We’ve done three wounds total because we just did it for two. All right, on to the lion’s turn.

Size up. Pick a target. Random threat. Infield view. Intimidate target the monster.

All right, so we got to see odds and evens again for the two in front. This time it’s going at Sophia. The monster stares down its prey. turn to face a target and roll a d10 on a four up. She’s going to get knocked down and take a brain damage.

That is a four up. So now she goes down to two insanity. She is knocked down. Uh he’s going to stand up by the end of the monster’s turn. So I’ll just put that one on there.

Monster’s turn is over. Okay. Orcus is going to spend his turn to encourage Sophia. She will stand back up. If I encourage someone, can they attack?

That’s the question. Got to look that up. Yeah. So, she’s standing back up. I’m going to assume that she can just go.

Uh, so Sophia is going to swing this bone club. Two dice. Looking for six up. Not very accurate. Uh she’s she’s strong but maybe not strong enough for the Kubone Club.

Maybe it was a mistake getting that weapon. But that’s okay because our savior Clay Nestra is here. She is hitting on fours, not fives. She also misses. Fantastic.

But that’s okay because our boy with the death mask is coming in swinging his founding stone. Uh not swinging his founding stone because he throw it. He’s using his fist and tooth, but he’s old. Lucky hands to Logan. He hits on an eight up, so he’s probably not going to hit with the way we’re rolling dice.

Two dice looking for eights. We got a nine. He is lucky hands to logist. So now we flip our card over. We’re trying to wound this bad boy because we’re fisting two plus one luck because of death math.

Death mask plus four up. We’re wounding on a five or higher here. We’re critting on a five or higher. And we roll a four. Very cool.

Very lucky. So full move the monster in a straight line. Cancel all hits now. Out of range. Any survivors passed over.

Suffer grab. Place knock target knockdown in front of the monster. Suffers one damage per monster level. Where does it suffer the damage at? Oh, I just roll body roll.

Okay, cool. So he goes all the way forward. Oops. Uh, he would place here. Looking that way.

Uh, I guess they go here. They’re both knocked down. This is Sophia’s damage roll. takes it in the body. She has one armor there.

Not anymore. And this is for Orcus. He takes it in the body. Light wound on the body. And they’re both knocked down.

Uh, okay. This goes in the discard. back to uh if you heard the baby screaming earlier, I investigated that situation and it turns out that one daughter took the ponytail out of the other daughter. Uh so everybody’s okay. I’m laughing cuz I thought somebody was very very badly.

But nope, it was a ponytail a one-year-old ponytail fight. So back to the back to the lack of concentrate. Oh, that’s why I was so serious for a little bit. I was wondering what was going on. But we’re good.

So now I can laugh again about combo claw closest threat facing and in range. Um you know I think it’d be make more sense like I think this is probably I’m GMing it. I’m making it an executive decision. So the end of the board he goes there and then he’s just going to go that way. So closest threat facing odds and evens again.

This is going at Sophia. So this hits on a four up for one damage. If it deals damage more than once, draw AI. Uh oh. Okay, so that one misses luckily.

So this does one damage to the waist. Luckily, we have armor there on Sophia. So now those are hit. Uh if it deals damage more than once, draw another AI. It does not.

So it doesn’t get the combo claw, which is good. So now back on my turn. What do we do? We are going to move one, two, three, four, five. She’s coming in.

She’s hitting on fours. She hits one time. Hit location. Clever ploy. Uh trap.

A reshuffle hit location deck. Man, I think this means I don’t get to try to wound it. The attacker is caught in the white lines ruse and savagely mauled. Attacker is doomed. Perform a basic action targeting the attacker.

A trap cancels all hits and ends their attack. Uh, wow, that’s cool. So, perform a basic action. target the attacker. She’s not very lucky.

So now basic action is looking for twos. They both hit one damage each. Oh, that’s terrible. Both are to the head. She’s knocked down.

She gets We got a roll on the head injury table. Very cool. Don’t get too cocky is what this is teaching me. All right, rolling on the rolling on the head. Let’s see what happens.

Oh, destroy tooth. If you have three up courage, you spit the tooth and gain two insanity. Otherwise, the blow sends you sprawling and you are knocked down. Uh, she only has one courage. So, everybody is knocked down now or she’s knocked down.

Um, these guys, we just know they’re going to not do anything. They’re still knocked down. I got to shuffle the wound deck or the hit wait. Shuffle hit locations. Uh, all back in.

Cool. I just remember that if you’re knocked down, you’re not viewed as a threat. So, I need to remember that. I think I might have misplayed that earlier, but I’m not going to go back or anything. But, I did just remember that.

So, this guy’s going to go one, two. Yeah, he’s going to go there. He’s got his fist and tooth. We’re looking for eights. Uh, we got one.

All right. Looking looking for a five up here for a crit. Okay, we crit because he is a beast. Critical wound is roll a 1d10 on the table below. A five.

Uh, the monster is knocked down. Oh, that’s very cool. I don’t know what the implications of a monster being knocked down are. Oh, we’re getting close. Oh, wait.

No, we’re not. Oh, yeah. We’re getting close to killing this guy. Oh, wait. No, actually, there’s a ton of AI in the discard pile.

Never mind. No, we’re not getting close. So, he’s knocked down. Good job, Tagodus. Um, so I’m assuming if a monster is knocked down, uh, their turn just passes and they they stand back up.

So, uh, if I could attack him, everybody would hit on a three up. That would be very cool. Uh, but everybody else is knocked down. So, they’re there. These guys are knocked down.

She’s knocked down. It is now the monster’s turn. The monster turn stands up when it draws an AI card. So, it gets up, gets it, gets the card, and now it is back to normal. Closest threat that it’s facing in range.

Um, there is nobody in that currently. Closest threat in field of view. He’s in the field of view. So, now we’re there. This is accuracy two up.

This always targets the head. Awesome. Both of those hit. Both of these are going into the head. It is one damage.

Obviously, one causes a heavy wound. He is knocked down. And we’re rolling on the head damage table again. So he’s knocked he’s extra knocked down. Two 10s on the on the head damage is awesome.

We’re at least we’re getting some luck there. Um sorry they’re kind of far away. But it’s our turn again. Everybody’s standing up. We’re going to be Orcus has already used his encourage once so he can’t encourage again.

I don’t think we double check that having a glossery at the back is very helpful. Uh encourage Oh, they can only encourage once per round. So, he’s going to use his last survival. He’s down to zero survival. He’s going to encourage Sloanist to stand up.

Um, kind of sucks that I got the monster back up against the board now because I can’t get into the back arc or the the blind spot. Okay, so let’s let’s think about this. We want to go We want to try to knock it down. Now that I know knocking it down is possible, I guess Sophia should go last. So, we’re going to try scrap.

We’re going to try to get some crits off first because I think that’s the least likely to have bad things happen to us. So, we have two attacks. Looking for an eight. We got one. Looking for five or higher.

That’s a seven. This is a crit. Cancel the reaction. The force of this blow breaks the ribs, weakening weakening it. So, it gets a minus one toughness.

Very cool. Minus one. Oh, excuse me. Yeah, minus one toughness. Oh, that is awesome.

That’s great news for everybody else. An AI goes into the wound stack. Uh over two clin looking for fives. We got one. So now it’s uh it’s a seven.

So she’s going to wound on fours. That is a one. The lion jumps back directly away from the attacker. I can’t move anywhere. Uh, at least I don’t I don’t think Okay, so there’s a collision actually.

So, uh, let me read this card again. Uh, without turning, move the monster one space directly away from the attacker. So, now what’s going to happen is he moves to here. They take knockback of five. So, one, two, or that’s one, two, three, four, five.

They go here, which sucks. Uh, he’s here now. They’re both knocked down. Sophia’s not going to get her attack in. And that is >> That probably means I did something wrong.

I think they would have been knocked back five, but I don’t know where they would have been knocked back against earlier. So, they’re knocked down. I think this is where we’re at now. Uh, now it’s the the monster’s turn. Bloodthirsty.

When this comes into play, draw an AI. Uh, and this is a mood. So, I got to shuffle AI deck to draw another one. When a survivor suffers damage, place one token on Bloodthirsty. If it has three plus tokens, remove all tokens and perform basic action.

So, it gets an extra attack after a after a certain point. All right. So, next AI card, power swat, closest threat, facing an inrange. So, that’s that’s uh one speed, two plus accuracy, and two damage to start. So, that hits of of course does two damage, and it’s knock back six.

Uhoh. So, two damage to the waist. Uh that ends up being a light wound on our waist. So, we got lucky there, but he gets knocked back six. One, two, three, four, five, six.

Okay, the end of that monster’s turn, these guys stand up. Double checking that they stand up. All right. So, that was power swap. That’s in the discard.

What do we do now? This guy got knocked back six. He only has five movement. There’s a bug here. Uh, why not?

You know what he is? He says, “I just got knocked on my ass. I’m going to I’m going to wait and I’m going to dig through this bug patch. A four. Gain one random vermin resource and archive this terrain.”

Cool. I got my vermin deck over here. What does he get? Sword beetle. Consume.

Archive this card and roll a d10. The beetle burrows into your brain and you die instantly. Tough and disgusting. No effect. Or if you get a six up, you get a permanent plus one strength.

Wow. I think we definitely got to risk it, but not not right now. We’re not going to risk it right now, but definitely later. We’ll try to risk it. Okay.

Uh, so that’s there. He’s She’s going to go there. She’s going to swing at him with the scraps. So, we’re looking for fours now. No, excuse me.

Looking for fives. Got one. Now we are looking for fours. on this card. Ah, that is a crit.

Cancels the reaction. Shock waves of blinding pain. This is a persistent injury. Uh, I love that. Whenever the white lion draws an AI roll 1d10, if it’s one or two, we can discard it.

Oh, wow. That’s great. Hell yeah. Good job, Citra. And also, that was it does a wound.

Cool. I put that in the wrong stack. All right, so that does a wound and criticals only do one wound, right? Am I remembering that? I just want to make sure a wound.

Okay. Okay, I was just double checking luck and everything. For some reason, I was thinking maybe luck didn’t help with criticals. That was a real critical anyway, but that was awesome. Okay.

Uh, he’s going to try to throw the dart. He’s probably going to miss. Looking for sevens. He does miss. Uh Sophia is just going to go 1 2 3 4 and then she can’t attack him.

Uh but what she will do, I can use my action point to look at the top two cards of the AI because of the raw high headband and put them back in any order. And I’m going to put in I’m going to put bat around. So the next thing it’s going to do is bat around because I think that’s going to be less less of a chance to hit and hurt. Okay. So battle around it is closest threat in facing in range uh is Sophia.

Two dice looking for fives. Of course they both hit. Uh they do this one first to the hand, the next one to the foot. Luckily, I’ve got armor on both of those. Mark that.

But now battle round happens. Playfully bats the survivor. They suffer brain damage again. So they’re down to one brain. But that’s kind of what I was hoping to happen.

Oh, actually I forgot. Uh I need to roll this first to see if that gets Okay, it doesn’t get discarded. That would have hurt been bad if it got discarded. Okay, so battle round. Um, if I I’ve suffered damage, there’s two counters here on the other card.

So, one more and it gets a free attack. So, there’s two on that. All right, this guy’s going to go one, two, three, four, five. Actually, he’s going to go one, two, three, four, five. One, two, three, four.

He’s going to hang out in the woods. Uh, Orcus is going to go one, two, three, four. Trying to hit this guy uh with his founding stone. Looking for sevens. A little bit better than the darts.

Is it a little bit better than darts? No, the darts are We’re going to draw for the darts. Finally hits one. Now he’s looking for fours to wound. Is that right?

Yeah. Looking looking for fours. I rolled a two. Uh, luckily nothing happens on that one. All right.

Over to Sophia. We’re going to see if she can finally hit something with this club. Two dice. Looking for sixes. We got two hits.

So, this is first. This is the second one. Uh, we’re now we’re we’re looking for anything. All right. Looking for two up.

Yeah. Looking for twos. Very cool. Perform a basic action targeting the attacker. Fantastic.

Basic action. Targeting the attacker. Uh, those both hit. They both do one damage. One to the head.

Have head armor there still. Last uh last thing I had armor on and one to the hand. It’s a light wound, but that will trigger at the start of each monster turn. So, it’s going to get a free attack at the beginning of its turn now from that mood. Uh second attempt, the strange hand.

Um would be very cool to get a critical here. Anything but twos, man. What is going on? Sophia is a total bust. Awesome.

She gets attacked again for free. Both hit. One damage each. One to the head. Awesome.

Knocked down. One to the body. Great. Great, great, great. Okay.

Um, over to the scrap sword. I just realized I didn’t attack with that yet. Looking for fives. Got two hits. Oh, this missed.

Got two hits. First one looking for a four up. This wounds. Oh, this is impervious. Uh, so nothing happens on that one.

Beast back. Of course, we fail on that one. Uh, full move the monster in a straight line. Cancel all hits. Any survivors passed over suffer grab his movement.

He’s um minus one movement right now. So he goes one, two, three, four. Luckily he doesn’t hit anybody. Uh, and now we get an attack with Tagonus. So, that actually worked out pretty good.

Yeah. Orus is going to go one, two, three, four, five, six, or no, five, sorry. Uh, and he’s going to shoot bone darts. Looking for seven. Nope.

He’s going to try. Bone darts are useless. Don’t buy bone darts. I’ve learned my lesson. All right, over to the lion.

He’s plus one damage, minus one toughness, minus one movement, closest threat, facing in range, two attacks, five ups. Oh, wow. They both missed for once. I like that. Uh oh, great.

That is the least terrible monster turn we’ve had. Okay, it is Clintra, the sea demon. No, not not the seed. No, now I gotta edit that out. Uh, CLTra.

She needs a cool name for chopping off this lions. Uh, definitely got to think of something. But she’s coming in twos, hitting on fives. She misses. She’s still too excited about chopping off the ding-dong.

She is standing up now. She can’t move and attack, but she can go one, two, three into the blind spot. I’m going to use her action point to look at the top two cards of the AI deck from the Rawhide Headband. That’s Bloodthirsty and Chomp. I definitely don’t want Bloodthirsty to come again, but Chomp.

Yeah, I mean, I’m kind of screwed no matter what because Trump’s coming if I let him get bloodthirsty. So, we’re we’re going to put do Trump. Uh, I think Clay Nestra is probably going to get chomped. There’s not really much else we can hope for, but let’s see. One, two, three.

He’s going to go on the back. Plus one to accuracy. Now, bone darts are going to hit on a six. But I think we we’re going to use the founding stone because we get two two attacks and we want to try to get that card out. So, hitting on sixes.

We hit with one. That’s uh that’s terrible actually. Actually, no, that’s not terrible. We want Trump gone. I’m being silly.

I threw the wrong thing out. All right. This is what we’re trying to wound on. Uh founding stone is one strength. Looking for six or higher.

That’s a five. Awesome. Full move forward in a straight line. Any survivors passed over suffer grab. Place the knockdown in front of the monster.

So we go one, two, three, four, five now because of the one less movement. You’re here and you’re knocked down. You’re definitely going to be killed next turn. Uh, all right. She’s about to get chomped.

One attack, two up. Oh, actually this won’t kill her. Hits does one damage to the head. So, she’s knocked down. Uh, always hits the head.

There we go. She’s still alive. She managed to live. She’s no longer knocked down. She gets back up on her feet and she immediately swings a scrap sword at the lion.

Oh. very high rolls. I wish uh that was on the wounding, but we’ll take it. So, this is first one, then beast heal. Uh we’ve got fours.

Looking for fours to wound. Does not white line swats back. Gets a basic attack. Looking for twos up. Both of those hit.

Very, very cool. Shoot. She takes the one on the leg. Now we’re rolling on the head injury table. Six.

Deaf. Suffer minus one permanent evasion. The injury is permanent and cannot and can only be recorded once. So she’s deaf now. She gets a bleeding token.

Uh, now we’ll try try to wound us here. We hit. Actually, we do wound. We’re wounding on fours. So, clip the tendon muscle.

Uh, oh, cool. Oh, wow. I just forgot about We should be rolling every turn to see if he skips his turn. That would have been huge. Uh, but it’s too late.

We’ll remember that going forward. So now when the white lion starts its movement, roll a 1d10 on a result of one, it is knocked down. Okay, so that was her attack. We did at least get a wound off. He will go one, two, three, four, five.

Shoot his things. Misses. She will go one, two, three, four, five. Look at the top two power swat and bat around. We’re going to put bat around up top.

All right. So, the beginning of his turn, we roll to see if he skips his turn. He does not. Coming at our girl. Two at five up.

Both hits does one damage. Oops. Body and hand. Monster plays bats. Uh, she does not have any insanity.

So, she takes a hit to the brain, but I don’t think we uh we don’t take the severe injury yet. All right. starting us off. She is clutter master of the quiet now that she’s done. That’s kind of messed up.

Okay. Both both hit. Am I misremember? Yes. Both hit.

There we go. She means a business now. She’s pissed off. That’s the first one. That’s the second one.

Wounding on this guy. Sixes wound. Hit the line in the kneecap. There’s There we go. Second one.

Oh, that was almost a miss, but it just rolled over, hits the leg. All right, we just need one more hit and we’re going to kill this monster. Um, we’re going to see if you can do it with this bone darts cuz the other one can’t move and attack. Or actually, she can. She just can’t use the club, which I just now realized that we’re about to kill the lion.

Very silly. I’m very good gamer. He hits with his bone darts for once. The first I don’t know. He’s only hit a few times.

And of course, he just triggers the [ __ ] trap. God damn it. All right. Basic attack. Twos hitting on twos.

One hits right in the waist. Uh, luckily he saw his armor there. So, okay. Not too bad. All right, now it’s his actual turn.

He only has one card left. It is battle round. He’s going at him since he was just attacking him. Two at five up. Both hits.

Uhoh. Not looking good for Orcus. Oh god. Both in the feet. So this one is the heavy wound.

This one is a roll on the table. Uhoh. Blood shoots out from your ephemeral artery at an alarming rate, killing you in seconds. Bye-bye, Orcy. Rest in peace, my boy.

That’s what you get for those not hitting anything with those blood tarts. Okay, it’s on to our two heroes. Our two heroes. Sophia is here. She’s got her bone club.

She needs to hit on sixes to actually, you know what? She’s coming in. She’s She’s blood lusted. She’s been busting up. She’s pretty much done all her damage to this lion.

Uh she deserves to get the killing blow in. We’re looking for fives. Oh, she trips and falls. She’s She’s too berserk. She’s too berserk.

It’s up It’s up to Sophia the Strong. Uh I could do a lot of things. I could throw my founding stone to hit it, but we’re not. We’re using the bone club. We’re using the bone club.

We got to hit two. It’s got two health effectively. Both of them miss. The only thing it can do again, it can only bat around. It’s going at Sophia looking for fives.

One hits to her foot. That’s a light wound to the foot. All right. Quite sure. She’s gets back up on her feet.

She needs fives. She gets one in. She gets one in. Does she wound it? She does not wound it.

She gets attacked with a basic action. I think we’re probably about to be in for a bad time. Both hit. Oh, let’s see where she gets hit at. I think we’re in for a bad time.

My phone just died, but I didn’t roll it yet. I waited until I charge her back up. One in the waist. We have an armor on the waist, but the one in the body is a heavy injury. So, she’s just knocked down.

She lives. She lives. All right, it’s up to Sophia the strong need a six up. We cannot roll a six up. Apparently, she finally does it.

Finally does it. This is on this is on the battle round card in the AI deck. Do we finally kill this sucker? This is what we’re trying to wound on. We need a five.

She finally finally wounds it. So that’s in the discard. We just got to survive a basic attack and we can make this. >> Okay, it’s down to this. Can we Can we live through a basic attack?

Both hit one damage each. She’s pretty busted up. The waist lost armor last time. That’s a light wound to the waist. Oh, that body though.

She’s rolling on the body table. A seven. A vicious body blow. Skip the next hunt. Oh man, she skips the next hunt.

She has three bleeding tokens on her. She gets to five, she’s dead. But she’s no longer knocked down. It is the hero’s turn again. She’s going to try to get up.

She’s bleeding profusely from her spleen. She’s got these two the scrap sword. One hits and now the lion is defeated because there’s no wound cards to pull. She does it with a 10 with a lantern. move the lantern 10 just in case he has to roll a wound.

I’m not sure if I still do have to roll a wound, but she rolls a seven. So, the lion is definitely done. We have successfully finished the feat, but we only have one of our original survivors left. Of course, it’s Sophia the strong. All of her armor lasted.

She was close to death. Clamastra, the castrator, also almost dead, but we got a lot of loot. So, now we finished the hunt and let’s see what happens. Oh, man. Hopefully I was recording.

I don’t know what I just missed, but uh so we’re going to get a catarium for beating the hunt at level one. We got some hunt XP. We got some level proficiency, which I need to look up. We got the testies during the fight. We got the Monster Hide during the hunt.

We get these four lion resources. and four basic resources. So now we’ll definitely have enough uh to have two people fully armored at least. We’ll see what we can make now with the catarium too. So those four resources.

Let’s see. We get hide bone. Hide. Hide. Another hide.

Another organ. a bone and an organ. So, this time we got lots more lots more organs. Only two bones. Uh, which is fine because I didn’t really want to make bone weaponry, especially after this bone club let me down so much, but and we got the sword from the scraps.

Uh, so just to recap, we got a scrap sword, we got a sword beetle, and we got the death mask from the bad dealer. So, I think overall pretty successful hunt. I’m okay with losing. This was one was a fresh character and Orcus. Uh, losing Orcus kind of sucks because he did have that courage mode boost, but again, not a huge loss to Orcus either.

So, very exciting. Back to the settlement phase. Um, I think instead of recording the settlement phase just cuz I don’t want this to get super long and boring, I’ll just tell you what we’re looking like after the results of the whole settlement phase itself. Uh, okay. So, now with the with the Caterium, the actual specific cat drops do come into play.

So that makes sense. Oh, that’s pretty cool. So, looking at these accessories, I have the eye of the cat. Uh, pretty cool. Okay, I’ll be back after I finish all >> I just remembered we’re cannibals.

So, the resources we got from the deaths are perfect hide and monster. Actually, I just realized that the hunt XP, I just triggered the first age milestone and I don’t actually get any weapon proficiency XP cuz I didn’t have a weapon proficiency yet, obviously. I was just kind of on autopilot. I just realized two things going through the settlement phase. Uh the whole point of Sophia the strong is she had a plus one strength.

So, I totally forgot about that and I should have been hitting stuff. So, if you were watching that, uh you probably were yelling at me, but it’s okay. We made it through. We only lost two survivors again. Uh, so we’re hitting on fives instead of sixes, which probably would have been a pretty big deal.

Um, I don’t actually I don’t know. We rolled pretty low, so I don’t know if it would have been a huge deal, but now because of the age story event, she gets to pick a weapon proficiency. Um, I think I’m going to pick club just cuz that’s what she has, but I don’t know. I I don’t want to like look ahead at all the other weapons, but I don’t know. I think we’re just going to roll with club.

She’s Or maybe she hates the club and that’s why she never did. She only wounded like once. actually thinking back and I’m reading this again. She did all of her damage and got herself strong by biting with fist and tooth and that’s why her jaw was broken. Uh, so she’s not going to be biting, but I think maybe I’ll pick fist and tooth and take her weapon away and she’s just straight up bruiser.

She’s she’s going to use her fist and her top teeth that she still has, not her jaw. But I think I don’t know. I think that’d be cool. That’s what I was rolling good on with her before. I got a natural crit with it her before.

So, we’ll give her club to somebody else. And her proficiency is going to be fist and tooth just because I think that’s what she’s meant to be. Okay, we also get to roll on this table, actually. So, let’s see what we get. 2d10, uh, a nine, one random fighting art.

Can I just shuffle this up? >> Roll away from collisions now, which is pretty cool. That would have been huge in the last fight. >> So, uh, settlement settlement event here. This is from just hitting year two.

Clinging mist is the card we drew. 10. Does the settlement have a Well, sorry. Does the settlement have a guidepost? No.

Awesome. Returning survivors must go on another hunt immediately without departing or changing gear grids or become the starting survivors for a new settlement starting with the first story phase. Okay, I had to look at the FAQ for this because it’s pretty poorly worded. Uh, they shouldn’t have you heal before you draw event cards if an event card would make it so you can’t heal, but okay. So, cleaning mist rolled a 10.

Uh, I had to look up the FAQ cuz I had a ton of questions about this. So, when starting a new settlement, you just scrap the old one, start a new settlement. Uh, that I understand, but going on the second hunt, the survivors return and they heal before you would draw an event card, but this specific event card in the FAQ says you do not heal. So, uh, definitely going to have to start a new settlement with these two because one, I already cleared the sheets and I don’t and I could watch it back, but I’m not going to do that. Um, so I already healed them.

Don’t know where I think if I can’t heal them, they’re probably going to die in like one hit anyway. And with just not going to do it. So, time to start a new back to the first story settlement phase. The name of our settlement is going to be Hezekiah because but I’m not sure the castrator is Davdeaf and Sophia the Strong has no jaw so she can’t speak. So that’s what it’s going to be.

I’m going to run through this. I’m not going to record it. We’ve already done it once. It’s going to be the same exact thing as the first time. So going to run through that.

Spin up my new settlers. I get to keep all the resources that we just got from the hunt. I get to keep the gear that we had. Uh, so, uh, we only have three founding stones, though is what I’m gonna assume. Do we get a set our founding stones back?

That would be pretty cool, actually. So, uh, I’m gonna go through the thing again, tell you where we’re at before we get started on the next. All right, sword beetle. We die or we get another strength. Or maybe nothing happens.

I didn’t flub it. I just rolled off camera. Sophia gets another strength. My heart was racing, but I >> Okay, quick recap. Uh, I just took cannibalize again since they’re already cannibals.

It didn’t make sense to change that in my mind. We’re going to make a cat gut bow, a cat eye cirlet, frenzy drink, the pants to finish up Sophia’s set, and then we had enough hide to make a full set. I’m sitting on these two. Great cat bone, perfect hide. Uh, I’m torn between using them now because I could pull that same event card again next time and lose them.

So, it makes sense to like burn everything I got so I can have equipment on me in case I pull it again. But I think I’m gonna try to save these two. I’m going to risk it and hope I don’t pull that event card or something that makes me start a new settlement again. But now um I I made another bow and I’m going to I’ll fill out the sheets. One thing I did realize so you don’t think I’m cheating is that when they picked cannibal the first time based on what I rolled and I got the plus three insanity light just went out, but I also get an extra founding stone.

Like you you get a founding stone from that. So I have a fourth founding stone again. Last time I should have had five. So I’m not cheating. just I’ve noticed it when I was reading the rules on cannibalide.

So, we’re running through this real quick. This is Sophia the Strong. She is in full rawhide, which I need to get the card for that, but she keeps getting her bone club for now. Uh, and then because Clayton Neestra has to sit out for the understanding thing. Uh, this is like a new new hero.

Just KIP Clip round two clappy junior. Uh, she has full rawhide. She has the frenzy drink that we made and Clamstra has trusted her with her scrap sword. So clearly she has a lot of faith in her. She’s she’s passed the blade over here.

Um next these are the the two gentlemen. Both are new guys, but we have the Kaka bow on our desk death mask. So very hoping for a lot of crits from range and then that’ll kind of keeping him at range will hopefully keep him out of getting severely injured. And then uh I got to name both of these guys. this guy who is just a bare bones.

I gave him the cat eye cirlet. The cat eye circuit reveals the next three monster hit locations and puts them back in any order. So, he’s going to be hanging out in the back doing that is what the what the plan is. Hopefully, he’s going to kind of take on a supporting role hopefully away from the danger for as long as I can keep him back. Uh just got to name him.

Uh settlement. We rolled pretty low on our settlement actually. So, we only have six total population. Um, four of them are here. I need uh I might as well go ahead and I’ll name all six of them.

So, a much lower population. We had 13 in the last settlement. So, uh we’re ready to start the next hunt phase. But I think that’s going to be it for today. I named him Alexios Theren.

And I gave I also I just realized I remembered I gave him bone darts. So, he can also throw those. But I’m thinking Sophia. So, she has plus two strength now. So, those bone darts hit on fives.

So if she was throwing them, but also I don’t know. I don’t know. >> So rawhide armor gives everybody plus one to all hit locations. So uh two armor. That’s that’s how I did it.

So I didn’t have to erase. And if they perform a survival action uh and six up, they get plus one survival. All right, it’s hunt event time, baby. So first card, crawling lion. We get ground fighting again.

Uh, I’m actually pretty excited about that. Uh, especially now that we have the bow. So, that’s very cool. Uh, double checking something. When survivors talk the wild, move it away from the survivors.

I knew there was something I was missing. Move it away. And he starts uh with ground fighting, which is very good for us. Next, next one up. Hungry lion sniffs.

Move the line one space towards. If it moves, the white line ambushes pull. Uh, roll for a random hunt event. So, goes here. And now we roll.

Uh, we got four. Oh, look at that. Famine. The path ahead is set, erid, and dead. You may have survivors.

Gain one courage and press on. Otherwise, roll again before moving. If you press on, your stomach’s grumble. Oh, okay. Wait.

If you press on, the survivors pull their supplies. The event revealer rolls 1d10 and adds one adds two to their roll for each consumable. Uh, I don’t have any. Oh, wait. I have one consumable.

my frenzy drink. Okay, so I think we’ll we’ll press on. So everybody gets plus one courage. And now we roll a d10. Uh, adds plus two.

Uh, I rolled a three, so that’s a five. Uh, uh, everybody gets minus one speed token. Very I just grab the token. Onto the next one. This one is random event tens and ones 89.

cleaner birds. Tiny ragged birds with needle thin beaks fly overhead. Each survivor rolls a 1d10. The lowest scoring scoring survivor becomes a straggler. The birds swarm the straggler.

One forces its way into the straggler’s mouth and down their throat. The surv survivor vomits up the well-fed bird. Their inside scrambled and scared. Gain plus one permanent luck, minus one speed. If a survivor has a whip, they crack it and fell the offensive creature.

Gain one resource. Wow. Okay, so we will go red for red is Sophia. White for Alexios. Uh, black.

We’ll do We’ll do black for black for Sophia, red for Kipi, and the last black is for uh Theron. So, Sophia, it’s a six. Alexios as a 10. He’s probably safe. Cly uh as a four.

And honestly, we really want the to roll roll low because he has the death mask. So, we kind of want that luck. And it’s okay if he’s slow. He is not. Um, so that is Collia.

She gets a permanent plus one luck. So, maybe she will be our archer in the future. She gets a permanent plus one luck and a permanent speed. So, she’s down to four speed. All right, now it’s time we move in.

Face the Hey, that was a that was an overall uneventful hunt in terms of people getting killed like last time or getting maimed like last time. Everybody’s slow. Cly is actually only moving three now, which that kind of sucks uh because she has that scrap sword. So, we’re going to have to think through that and how we lay out. So now it’s time to lay out the train and get this hunt
