Michael Lovejoy
Designer Sculptor
Sculptor and game designer. One half of Oathsworn Miniatures and the writer of Burrows & Badgers.
Michael Lovejoy runs Oathsworn Miniatures with his wife Jo. He sculpts the minis and wrote Burrows & Badgers, both editions of it, for Osprey Games.
He started gaming in 1983, worked briefly in a couple of games shops, then went freelance as a painter and sculptor. He told Goonhammer in 2023 that he did “a lot of 15mm historicals, a lot of six mil sci-fi,” plus horses and dinosaurs for collectibles companies, before starting his own ranges. That animal work is why the anthropomorphic minis “just seemed like an obvious fit.”
The game came after the miniatures. Once backers had them, they wanted something to play, so he wrote the rules.
