Painting through recovery - if I can hobby through RSV, bronchitis, pneumonia, and an ER trip, I can hobby through a vasectomy.
The Streak Must Continue
Look guys. I got a vasectomy earlier today and I hobbied through:
- RSV
- Bronchitis (that I got from the RSV)
- Pneumonia
- An emergency room trip to get oxygen
I didn’t break the hobby streak then. I’m not going to break it now.
Tonight’s Project
I’ve been meaning to go back into this Butcher model and paint the candy cane on his weapon. Got my relatively new size one sable brush and I’m just going to paint some stripes.
Not going to lie - I’m in a lot of pain right now. Making my hand shake a little. This might have to be cleaned up tomorrow, but I’ve started the process.
The Process
Realized I was painting on primer - that’s why it felt weird. Changed plans: paint the whole thing red first, then do the white stripes later.
Also remembered this is the brush I don’t like because it’s acting weird. Need to switch that out.
Want this to be a different red than the robe, so I’m using Primary Red.
The Actual Operation
If you’re curious - the operation part was super fast. Didn’t feel a thing. But 9 hours later? It sucks.
The Point
This is going to be a quick one. Maybe I’ll even add some red to the gauntlets and highlight this up because I love this model and want to revisit it.
I’ve put paint on a model every day this year. Even if it’s just a single coat of paint, the streak continues.
If I can do it during all those other times, I can do it today.
See you tomorrow.
Transcript
All right, look guys. I got a basectomy earlier today and I hobbyed through RSV. I hobbyed through the pneumonia or actually it was bronchitis first after I that I got from the RSV then the pneumonia. I hobbyed through the emergency room trip to getting oxygen and I didn’t break the hobby streak. I’m not going to break it now.
Uh, I’ve been meaning to go back into this butcher and paint this candy cane. So, I’ve got my relatively new size one sable brush and I’m just going to come in and paint some stripes on this guy. And I’m just kind of like mapping them in real quick so that they’re evenly spaced. Uh, and I’m not going to lie, I’m in a lot of pain right now. Uh, I think it’s making my handshake a little bit.
So, this might have to be cleaned up tomorrow, but I’ve started the process. Actually, you know what I’m going to do? Because this is the primer. That’s why it’s weird. One second.
Got to get my water cup. Uh, this is the primer still. So, what I’m going to do is right now I’m going to paint the whole thing red and then I’ll white stripe it. So, I I just got a little bit of water so I can thin this paint out some and I’m going to paint this cuz this brush is also this is that weird brush. I just remember that I should not be using this brush.
Okay, so we’re going to paint the whole candy cane red and then I’ll actually stripe do the stripes in white. And I’ll get a different brush because I just remembered that this was the brush that I didn’t really like because it’s acting weird. But yeah, and if you’re curious, the actual operation part was super fast. It didn’t feel a thing. Uh but I’m about 9 hours later right now and it’s it sucks.
So, this is going to be a quick one because I’m going to do this and I wanted this to be a different red than the robe. So, I have this primary red. All right. So, I’ll do that. It’s a cheesy one.
Maybe I’ll even put some on here in the gauntlets and try to highlight this up some because I do I love this model. I do want to revisit it some. Uh but hey, I’ve I’ve painted a model every day this I’ve put paint on a model every day this year. Uh I love this guy. He turned out so good.
Uh I’m keeping the hobby streak going even if it was just putting a single coat of paint on a model. But like I said, if I can do it during the other times, I can do it today. See you guys tomorrow.
