Using Speed Paints as a Wash

Everybody, another quick one tonight, uh in our wash, washing red experiments. So, Slaughter Red, Army Painter Quickshade medium. Going to start with like I don’t know, 50/50. Maybe just like two drops each. Um the Ice King wanted me to give this a shot, and I’m currently working on some other projects.

Kind of kind of finally, after almost 250 days of this, uh I was trying to get a better vision. Um the battle report video is just flat-out cursed. I’ve now recorded three different battles, uh several hours worth of of playing and recording and editing, and it’s still just like and I don’t know. I There’s Honestly, there’s something wrong with every single one, or something has gone wrong, uh to where I just can’t upload it, and I’m just going to kind of give up on it, cuz I want to go in a different direction anyway. So, if you’re waiting for that, I’m very sorry.

Um I just put in This is like two drops medium. I don’t know. We’ll see We’ll see what this looks like. This is a very deep red. This is Slaughter Red, the speed paint.

So, we’re going to hit this very carefully, like we usually do. And see what happens. Let’s start on the back, cuz I don’t know. Okay, there we go. So, let’s see.

We’ll see what we get. I’ll be I’ll be back. So, as I’m as I’m finishing up the wash on this, and it’s actually a pretty pretty amazing effect. I think this will probably be the route that I go, uh for sure. But, um you know, I was getting so frustrated over the battle report not working, and I was like Bro, struggling to get I was spending so much time on the battery board and then not getting a finished video out of it uh that it Oh, air compressor again.

Uh that it was making it hard to like get a video released. Which I’m sure we like you could tell cuz I’ve just been doing shorts and kind of like teasers for other stuff. But I was just kind of thinking like what am I even doing? Really? Because after these commissions, you know, I’ve got so many projects I’ve started and haven’t been able to finish.

And now like I’ve got I got the I’ve got to get the commissions done. So I kind of have like the thinking part of what to do is out of it because it’s finishing commissions mode. But I’m I’ve got a pretty sick idea about the next chapter of the Hobby Novacon and it’s going to start soon. But let’s let this dry so we can do our full comparison, but I think it’s going to be this for sure. You know, we’re a couple minutes in uh a couple minutes later and we’re all dry.

So let me This is This one right here is the one that we just did with the speed paint wash. And then this one next to it is the brown wash. And I think the speed paint wash is the way to go for sure. Um all the details that we want picked out have been picked out. It didn’t change our reds.

If anything, it made it even more vibrant. Uh I think this is definitely the way to go for sure. Um just because it’s it’s easier. It’s faster. This Here’s another one.

This is a different actual model, but you can see here uh uh it’s even deeper in the cracks than the brown wash was. Like it’s even pulling out the detail even better. So, I think we have a new hack, another use for the speed paints. Uh and again, this was just uh I guess two parts quickshade medium wash mixing medium and one part Slaughter Red.
