Bellwoken
Bellwoken is a 28mm fantasy army of 3D-printable STL miniatures by Ben Baez (benbam works): souls bound into bells and brass relics, built for miniature-agnostic games, with ready-made lists for Hobgoblin and Greathelm.

"My take on this one is coming soon."
What is Bellwoken
Bellwoken is a whimsical fantasy army for tabletop wargames, sold as STL files for 3D printing. It’s sculpted by Ben Baez, who works as benbam works. There’s no rulebook of its own. It’s a full faction you drop into the miniature-agnostic games you already play.
The army comes from Baez’s own setting, Forgotten Chronicles. The Bellwoken are lost souls bound into bells, cymbals, music boxes, and other relics. They don’t bleed, and while the relic still rings the body pulls itself back together. To finish one off, you break the vessel.
Vol. I is 44+ digitally sculpted miniatures in 28mm scale, and the files come pre-supported. It was Baez’s first Kickstarter. The campaign ran 29 May to 19 June 2026 and raised $9,153 from 158 backers against a $300 goal.
How it plays
Bellwoken doesn’t have rules of its own, so how it plays depends on the game you bring it to. The campaign set it up for two on day one, working with Indie Tabletop Club:
- Hobgoblin. The whole range is in the official Hobgoblin app, so you can build a list at any points size. There’s also a ready-made 3,000-point starter army, the Cymbalam Patrol. Official Bellwoken army list for Hobgoblin.
- Greathelm. A custom Bellwoken warband in the Greathelm app. The Cymbalam hit hard with heavy weapons, the Bellbound are all-rounders, the Luminants support, and the Chimelings rush the enemy. Official Bellwoken warband for Greathelm.
- One Page Rules. Official lists are coming, but they don’t exist yet.
Each unit comes with lore snippets, and the range is also pitched at fantasy and steampunk RPG tables as a strange faction to meet or fight.
How to start
- Print the free sample. The Bellbound Infantry Banner is a free download on MyMiniFactory, so you can test the detail on your own printer.
- Get the full set. On Kickstarter the Personal All-In pledge was $59 for the Core Set, three expansions (Characters, Elites & Rubble, Big & Mean), and the unlocked stretch goals. Files are delivered through MyMiniFactory’s pledge manager.
- Or buy them printed. I’m an official Bellwoken merchant partner, so you can get printed Bellwoken minis from my store, Yellow Imp.
- Pick a game. Grab the free quick start rules in the Hobgoblin app or the Greathelm app, then load the official Bellwoken Hobgoblin army or Greathelm warband.
Scaling note from the campaign: you can scale the supported files up or down by 10%. Past that, re-support them or expect failed prints.
The personal pledge is for your own printing only. Selling physical prints needs a Merchant pledge, and nobody may share or sell the STL files themselves.
Every backer also got a bonus model sculpted for the campaign by Moonshard Miniatures.
More on the site: Bellwoken’s whimsical army set is live on Kickstarter, and my plans to paint a Bellwoken model for the painting competition in Building Teaspoon’s Lava Rock Diorama, Part 1.
