Finishing up a custom monolith bearer miniature conversion with chains, modeling compound, and base work before priming.
Transcript
We’re going to finish this guy out tonight. I drilled holes in the monolith—one is still a perfect circle that needs work, but the other I’ve already reshaped so it doesn’t look so uniform. We’re going to get this chain wrapped around the monolith, do a little bit more green stuff while he dries, and then tomorrow we can finally paint him. This will be a quick one.
Chaining the Monolith
We got the chain on and locked in place. I think it looks pretty good. The chain routing is a little bit weird, so I might make some tweaks there, but it’s secured. We’ve still got to do something with the base of the monolith, so I’m just going to use my modeling compound to fill that in.
Base Work
I mixed up some modeling compound like I’ve done in older videos, just to make the bottom of the monolith look like it was pulled up out of the earth. Working on the base in a very precarious spot tonight. I’m going to let this dry and actually see you tomorrow—I almost forgot to do that part.
I also put some of the compound on the board for extra texture. Here’s how we’re looking now.
Alright, for real this time—thanks for watching. See you tomorrow. I’ve got to go to bed. I’m exhausted.
